7 Wildest Bachelor Nation Fantasy Suite Controversies, Ranked

Luke Parker, Hannah Brown, Zach Shallcross and Gabi Elnicki
ABC

Grant Ellis will head to the fantasy suites on the Monday, March 17, episode of The Bachelor. The Season 29 lead assured Swooon that he “handled [himself] the best way that [he] could” during the pivotal week, but that hasn’t always been the case for the show’s leads and contestants.

There have been some pretty iconic Bachelor Nation moments that happened during fantasy suites week over the years. With physical intimacy on the table and (usually) three contestants remaining, overnights week can often be a time of uncertainty or even jealousy.

Swooon rounded up some of the wildest moments that have taken place over the years. Scroll down for a refresh.

The Bachelor, Season 29, Mondays, 8/7c, ABC

Zach Shallcross and Rachel Recchia on The Bachelorette
ABC

7. Rachel Recchia & Zach Shallcross

On Season 19 of The Bachelorette, the fantasy suite was a big turning point for Rachel Recchia and Zach Shallcross. When they woke up the morning after the overnight, things were noticeably awkward between them. Shallcross said things were “immediately different” behind closed doors and accused Recchia of “putting on a front.”

Recchia and Shallcross have been tight-lipped about exactly what made things so weird. They ended their relationship ahead of the rose ceremony when he decided to leave the show.

Juan Pablo Galavis and Andi Dorfman The Bachelor Breakup
ABC

6. Juan Pablo Galavis & Andi Dorfman

After Juan Pablo Galavis and Andi Dorfman spent the night together on The Bachelor, she was left disappointed and upset. She said the overnight date was a “disaster” because she saw a side of Galavis that she hadn’t seen yet.

When she confronted him about it in the morning, he famously tried to keep telling her, “It’s okay,” which only set her off even more. Her breakup speech was one for the ages!

Colton Underwood Jumping Over the Fence on The Bachelor
ABC

5. Colton Underwood

The fence jump seen around the world took place during fantasy suites week of Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor. After he spent the night with Tayshia Adams — they did not sleep together, she confirmed — Underwood had his fantasy suite date with Cassie Randolph. However, they didn’t make it to the overnight portion because she ended the relationship due to lingering doubts.

Underwood was so overwhelmed with everything going on that he ran away from the cameras, ripped his microphone pack off, and hopped over a fence to try and escape the madness.

Peter Weber and Madison Prewett on The Bachelor

4. Peter Weber & Madison Prewett

Even before fantasy suites week, Madison Prewett told Peter Weber that she wouldn’t be okay with him sleeping with someone else on the show. She was saving herself for marriage and that didn’t align with her values.

Prewett had the third date of the week after Hannah Ann Sluss and Victoria Fuller. While on the daytime portion of the date with Prewett, Weber realized that he was in love with her, which is why it wasn’t easy to break the news that he had been intimate during his previous fantasy suite dates.

Their evening ended in tears, but Prewett still reluctantly showed up for the next rose ceremony to give Weber another chance. In the end, she wasn’t able to get past the situation, though, and ended the relationship before the final rose ceremony.

Zach Shallcross, Kaity Biggar, Ariel Frenkel, and Gabi Elnicki
ABC

3. Zach Shallcross

On Season 27 of The Bachelor, Shallcross made the big mistake of declaring that sex was off the table in the fantasy suites. After his first date with Ariel Frenkel, he broke his own rule by sleeping with Gabi Elnicki on his second overnight. Okay, not that big of a deal … until he shared the details of their intimate evening with viewers and his third remaining woman, Kaity Biggar.

Not only was Elnicki pissed that Shallcross blabbed about their private time together, but Biggar was upset that he told her information that she felt could have gone unspoken.

Luckily, it all worked out for Shallcross, as he and Biggar are still engaged today.

Clatyon Echard, Gabby Windey, Rachel Recchia, and Susie Evans
ABC

2. Clayton Echard

Clayton Echard had an extra messy fantasy suites week. He slept with both Gabby Windey and Recchia, which put him in a difficult situation with Susie Evans, his third date of the week. When Echard told Evans that he was in love with her, she admitted that she would be upset if he was saying those words after being physically intimate with someone else or expressing the same feelings to another woman.

Since Evans had previously urged Echard to feel free to explore his other relationships on the show, he was caught off guard and flat-out told her that he had slept with someone else andexpressed feelings of love to someone else. Evans explained that she never wanted to give Echard an ultimatum, but assumed that if he really loved her that he wouldn’t want to be intimate with another woman.

After a tense conversation and lots of back and forth, Echard sent Evans home, then begged Windey and Recchia to stay despite the drama. They agreed, but after he introduced them both to his family, he realized Evans was who he was in love with, so he dumped both Windey and Recchia — at the same time — after previously begging them not to leave him. I mean, yikes.

Hannah Brown, Peter Weber, Jed Wyatt, Tyler cameron and Luke Parker
ABC

1. Hannah Brown & Luke Parker

Even though every viewer realized that Luke Parker was the absolute worst, Hannah Brown couldn’t deny her connection with him on Season 15 of The Bachelorette. She almost sent him packing after hometown dates but decided to keep him around and bring four men into fantasy suites week — and that’s when everything exploded.

On their date, Parker implied that he wouldn’t be able to pursue a relationship with Brown if he found out she had sex with someone else in the fantasy suite. This led Brown to (rightfully) explode on Parker and let him know that she did have sex — in a windmill — twice (she later clarified that it was four times) with Weber.

“I have had sex, and Jesus still loves me,” Brown declared, referencing Parker’s implication that she wasn’t a woman of faith if she was physically intimate before marriage.

Although Brown eliminated Parker before the overnight portion of their date, he took it upon himself to show up at the next rose ceremony, where she famously picked up the podium and moved it to escape him.
