‘The Bachelor’ Season 29 Eliminations: Who Made Grant Ellis’ Top 3?

Grant Ellis‘ stint as the lead of The Bachelor has started off with a bang. From the tearjerker moment with his grandma, Corine, to the appearance of the “no-drama-llama,” Season 29 is already shaping up to be a memorable one.

Stealing hearts as soon as he entered the Bachelor mansion during Jenn Tran‘s time as The Bachelorette, it’s no wonder that the New Jersey-born handsome athlete became the lead. But he has more than just good looks helping him along the way.

Taylor Ellis, Grant’s older sister, popped in to surprise him during the first cocktail party. Before leaving her baby brother to do it all by himself, she revealed a couple of secrets to the ladies. “Grant has not been honest with you all. He’s not here to get engaged,” she jokingly said. “He’s here for way more than that! He’s here to find his wife, his soulmate, his best friend, his everything, and no one else deserves to find love more than Grant.”

And that is something Grant is taking very seriously. Right away, he established some meaningful connections with the ladies. His first impression rose went to Alexe Godin, the only person who was accompanied by an adorable animal. Yet, their connection didn’t last as the lead sent her home right before Home Towns.

Sadly, not everyone can stick around. In the past six weeks, he has had to part ways with 22 hopefuls. With just three ladies left, Grant is getting closer to his “forever person.”

Episode 3 proved to be a dramatic one. Not only was the fight between Carolina Sofía Quixano and Rose Sombke quite intense, Beverly Ortega, who was supposed to get a one-on-one date, was rushed to the hospital and wasn’t cleared to come back to the show. This continued on into Episode 4 as the feud between Carolina and Rose continued. Debating whether all the stress was worth it, Rose made the difficult decision to leave on her own accord after spending some time in the Spanish sun.

During Episode 5, Carolina once again stirred up some drama. This was, however, the last time she was able to do that as Grant didn’t take her to the next stage of the adventure.

Hopping over to Chicago to meet Dina Lupancu in her hometown, Grant wasn’t able to meet her family. Not a fan of The Bachelor‘s process, the lawyer explained her dad’s reasoning to Parade, “It just didn’t sit well with him.” She continued, “And also he wasn’t familiar with the dynamics of the show. He didn’t realize that there’s a camera the whole time.” Dina’s dad is the minister of a church that she doesn’t belong to, but she understands his position of having to keep a “certain example for other families,” which made him not want to go on the show. Grant met her friends instead.
