When Calls the Heart is returning for Season 12 right at the top of the new year, and we’re beyond ready to return to Hope Valley.
For over a decade, the Hallmark drama has captivated us with its small-town charm and lovely romances. Power couples are everywhere in Hope Valley. After a long (but enjoyable) slow burn, Elizabeth (Erin Krakow ) and Nathan (Kevin McGarry ) are finally together.
But where do they land our list of When Calls the Heart couples? Where do Elizabeth and her first great love, Jack Thornton (Daniel Lissing ), fit? In honor of When Calls the Heart’s return, we’re ranking the seven best couples. Let us know your favorite WCTH pairing in the comments below.

7. Ned and Florence Strong, solid couples are everywhere in Hope Valley. Our biggest wish for Ned (Hrothgar Mathews) and Florence (Loretta Walsh ) is that we want to see more of them in Season 12. These two have been through it in the past, but they’ve always managed to rise above the complications. Florence and Ned married in Season 8, and it’s been pretty much all bliss for them since. Here’s to hoping these two get a fun adventure in Season 12.

6. Elizabeth and Lucas Lucas (Chris McNally ) was exactly the guy Elizabeth needed after Jack’s death. We have to acknowledge how Lucas helped her heal from her loss. He was constantly supportive and gave her the space to open up her heart again. However, their relationship always felt more platonic than romantic.
Let’s be real: Even if Nathan was never in the picture, Elizabeth and Lucas wouldn’t have ultimately worked. Their relationship was destined for a life in friendship territory.

5. Mike and Mei Mike (Ben Rosenbaum ) and Mei (Amanda Wong ) are just adorable . Watching their love story unfold slowly has been a treat to watch. Remember Mei planning the most romantic dinner date night for Mike where she cooked some of her favorite Chinese dishes? Best date night in When Calls the Heart history. “Mei, I want to be part of your life, your whole life,” Mike told her at that dinner. Now that is sweet romance. These two tied the knot in Season 11, and we’re excited to see their next chapter as newlyweds.

4. Joseph and Minnie Never change, Joseph (Viv Leacock ) and Minnie (Natasha Burnett )! This pairing is another Hope Valley power couple. They’re one of the newer couples, but they’ve made such an impression. They are supportive and encouraging of each other, and they face any obstacle head-on. That’s everything you want in a partner. This loving couple has marriage and family down pat, and we can’t wait to see them continue to thrive even more in Season 12.

3. Elizabeth and Jack Krakow and Lissing had a magical chemistry that felt like lightning in a bottle. Some Hearties may be surprised that Elizabeth and Jack rank #3 on this list, and we’re not denying the power of their romance in the first five seasons, but their love story will always be unfinished. Now that we’re heading into Season 12, Jack and Elizabeth almost feel like a distant memory. One that you look back on fondly, yes, but it’s faded. However, I will say this: They would have reached supercouple status (easily #1 on this list) if Lissing had stuck around.

2. Elizabeth and Nathan Look, this ranking may change once we get a good look at Elizabeth and Nathan’s coupling in Season 12. The slow burn between these two has been riveting to watch over the last several seasons. Elizabeth and Nathan’s romance was built gently, giving Hearties a tender love story to watch. Elizabeth has suffered the loss of one great love, and her unbreakable connection to Nathan proves you can get more than one soulmate in this life.

1. Rosemary and Lee Rosemary (Pascale Hutton ) and Lee (Kavan Smith ) are Hope Valley’s ultimate power couple. Not only are they deeply in love, but they make the best partners. They work effortlessly as a unit and balance one another in the best way. Their relationship has spanned almost the entire run of the show, and the couple has stood resolute against any challenge thrown in their direction. In fact, it’s only made them stronger. Elizabeth and Nathan may be the show’s central romance, but Rosemary and Lee’s relationship is the beating heart.
