‘Virgin River’ Cast’s Real-Life Romances: Meet Alexandra Breckenridge’s Love & More
Virgin River is all about the romance. Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack (Martin Henderson) just said “I do” at the end of Season 6 in a gorgeous wedding. The Brady-Brie-Mike love triangle is ongoing. Lizzie (Sarah Dugdale) and Denny (Kai Bradbury) are expecting a baby.

Alexandra Breckenridge
Breckenridge, who plays our beloved Mel, has been happily married to Casey Hooper since 2015. Hooper is a guitarist who has worked with Katy Perry, and she actually introduce the couple in 2012!
Breckenridge and Hooper have two kids together: Jack and Billie. In a rare interview about her personal life, Breckenridge called her husband “incredible” to Good Housekeeping.
Martin Henderson
Mel and Jack’s love story is at the center of Virgin River, but Henderson keeps his real-life romance private. It’s unclear if he’s single or dating at the moment.
Breckenridge seemingly addressed Henderson’s relationship status during her appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show. “My son is starting to figure out that mommy is on TV,” the actress said. “He sees pictures of me and Martin kissing, and he’s like, ‘Do you love him? Are you gonna marry him?’ And I’m like, ‘No, it’s pretend. I’m married to your dad, and Martin is with somebody else.'”
Zibby Allen
Zibby Allen, who plays Jack’s younger sister, Brie Sheridan, has been married to her husband, artist Adam James Blair, since 2018.
In a recent post, Blair shared a loving message about his wife. “Just want you to know that I love everything about you. You’re smart, funny, talented, patient, understanding, empathetic and drop dead gorgeous! Just to name a few of your finest qualities,” he wrote on Instagram.
Ben Hollingsworth
Brady may have a complicated love life, but not the actor who plays him! Ben Hollingsworth has been married to his wife, Nila Myers, since 2012. The couple recently celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary in November.
“It’s about who you share it with. @nilababy I can’t imagine going on this journey with anyone but you. My rock, my flower, my love,” Hollingsworth wrote on Instagram. They have three kids: sons Hemingway Nash and Gatsby Willem, and daughter Juniper.
Sarah Dugdale
Sarah Dugdale has become one of the most beloved members of Virgin River, and we can’t wait to see Lizzie and Denny’s next chapter. In real life, Dugdale is dating The 100 actor Richard Harmon. She frequently posts about her significant other on Instagram.
Annette O'Toole
Annette O’Toole, aka Hope McCrea, has an epic love story of her own. The actress has been married to fellow actor Michael McKean for over 25 years. They met on the set of the 1998 Lifetime movie Final Justice. They wed a year later.
The couple famously played Topanga’s parents on Boy Meets World. They also earned an Oscar nomination for the song “A Kiss At the End of the Rainbow” for the film A Mighty Wind. They recently made a red carpet appearance at The Diplomat Season 2 premiere in New York City.
Kandyse McClure
Kandyse McClure only joined Virgin River in Season 5 as Kaia, but she feels like she’s always been there. McClure recently married Claureinne Swales in September 2024. They had originally met when they were teenagers growing up in South Africa, according to The Knot. The couple married in London, the place where they reconnected years later.
Tim Matheson
Doc and Hope’s romance has had its ups and downs over the last six seasons. Tim Matheson‘s love life is much less dramatic than his onscreen character. The actor has been married to Elizabeth Marighetto since 2018.
“Thank you Lizzie for the passion you bring to my life, and for filling my heart with joy and love every morning that I get to wake up to you!” he wrote on Instagram in August.
Matheson was previously married to the late Jennifer Leak as well as Megan Murphy, with whom he has three children.
Colin Lawrence
Colin Lawrence and his wife, Lucia Walters, actually played onscreen love interests on Virgin River! Lawrence’s Preacher and Walters’ Julia had a brief romance in Season 4.
The couple met in acting class and married in 1999. Lawrence popped the question during a fake audition he had set up for the proposal. Lawrence and Walters have two daughters together.
Marco Grazzini
Mike just popped the question to Brie at the end of Virgin River Season 6, but Marco Grazzini proposed to Alvina August in 2019. They announced the arrival of their first child in August 2023.
