Relationships are the perfect place to insert some drama on a show, and when better to do so than at the end of a season or right before a break in the middle of one? Hence, the holidays are a perfect time to take stock of which romances are going to be on the rocks in the coming year.

For example, there’s the aftermath of trauma on SVU, secrets revealed on Virgin River, and one-half of a couple in serious danger on Grey’s Anatomy. And while pretty much every couple has problems on Rivals, there is one in particular we at least have hope for— though it won’t be an easy road. And on FBI: Most Wanted, just as it looked like a couple might take a step forward, one person wasn’t on board.

Scroll down as we take a look at the couples we’re most worried about in 2025.

Dylan McDermott as Supervisory Special Agent Remy Scott and Susan Misner as Abby Deaver — 'FBI: Most Wanted' Season 6 Episode 7
Mark Schäfer / CBS

Remy & Abby, FBI: Most Wanted

Going into the fall finale, we had a feeling that Remy’s (Dylan McDermott) nights out drinking with his friend Blake (Michael B. Silver) might become an issue with his girlfriend Abby (Susan Misner). Such was the case at the end of the episode when she turned him down after he asked her to stay with him since she was going to be around for a while. “I don’t think it’s a great idea,” she admitted. “I don’t want to push it. Our long-distance thing is working, right?” He asked if it was about Blake, insisting he’s nothing like him. “It has nothing to do with him,” she said, making excuses about convenience. “We can still see each other weekends.” But it feels like a breakup is inevitable.

Camilla Luddington as Jo and Chris Carmack as Link — 'Grey's Anatomy' Season 21 Premiere
Disney/Ser Baffo

Jo & Link, Grey's Anatomy

This is one couple we’re not exactly worried about breaking up for good, but we are worried that a split could be coming — Jo (Camilla Luddington) is currently in the middle of a hostage situation, and there has been a gunshot. The promo for the March 2025 return shows her being wheeled into the hospital. Grey’s isn’t about to kill off Jo and split her and Link (Chris Carmack) up that way, right? Or kill one of their twins and perhaps that loss lead to a fracture in their relationship? We can only hope!

Jacob Anderson as Louis De Point Du Lac and Sam Reid as Lestat De Lioncourt - Interview with the Vampire _ Season 2, Episode 8
Larry Horricks / AMC

Louis & Lestat, Interview With the Vampire

Just because Louis (Jacob Anderson) and Lestat (Sam Reid) have reunited in the present and the truth has been revealed about Armand’s (Assad Zaman) role in major events on the AMC series doesn’t mean that it’s going to be an easy path forward. In fact, now the hard part begins. How do they move forward? How do they begin to figure out what a future together looks like? That’s just the first step in what’s sure to be a long journey.

Kelli Giddish as Det. Amanda Rollins, Peter Scanavino as A.D.A Dominick
Virginia Sherwood / NBC

Carisi & Rollins, Law & Order: SVU

Carisi (Peter Scanavino) went through quite the traumatic experience in the fall finale, held hostage and unable to do anything while one person was killed and another raped. He refused to go to therapy after, and we can’t help but wonder how this could affect his relationship with Rollins —especially with Kelli Giddish showing up more frequently this season. “I think when these things happen, it’s stressful for everybody involved because you don’t know what to do for the person sometimes, and that can be —frustrating is the wrong word, but painful for a loved one to see, another loved one going through something and you don’t know how to help,” Scanavino said.  We could see that possibly affecting Rollisi in such a way that doesn’t split them up but does cause tension.

Tonantzin Carmelo as Tish and Kyle Schmid as Franks — 'NCIS: Origins' Season 1 Episode 9
CBS

Franks & Tish, NCIS: Origins

“In coming episodes there’s going to be a huge change to Franks [Kyle Schmid] and his personal life,” co-showrunner David J. North warned after the fall finale. We can’t help but wonder just what that means for his and Tish’s (Tonantzin Carmelo) relationship. Schmid has shared just what Tish means to Franks, but there is obviously a pull between her and his care for the team, which we see in Episode 9. “That’s absolutely going to continue,” North teased. “Franks is constantly at a fork in the road, and he’s also at a fork in the road with what to do with his own folder that he has on the man that assaulted Tish, whether or not he can let that go like she’s asked him to.” That is likely to cause some issues as well.

Victoria Smurfit as Maud and Aidan Turner as Declan — 'Rivals' Season 1 Episode 1
Disney+ / Hulu

Maud & Declan, Rivals

Oh, Maud (Victoria Smurfit) and Declan (Aidan Turner). The love is there, but perhaps their main problem is that they both have other great loves: her for attention (from men and in her career) and him for his work. By the end of Season 1, Maud left Declan.

“What we wanted to do at the end was Maud breaks free and follows her own path. Declan, after this, would have to think, how do I get Maud back? Is my work, my other important love in my life, more important than Maud?” executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins told TV Insider after the finale. “He takes the phone call, he doesn’t chase her out of the house. And yet you see Maud outside the house smiling, knowing the phone call’s coming. She’s still happy for him. Despite it all, there’s a love between them, and they’re always going to be fiery, but it’s not straightforward.”

So while it doesn’t feel quite completely over for the couple, it’s going to be a rough road.

Marco Grazzini as Mike Valenzuela, Zibby Allen as Brie Sheridan — 'Virgin River' Season 6
Courtesy of Netflix

Brie & Mike, Virgin River

Just when you thought the love triangle of Brie (Zibby Allen), Brady (Benjamin Hollingsworth), and Mike (Marco Grazzini) couldn’t get more complicated, we get the events of Season 6. Brie’s with Mike, but she and Brady hook up in Jack’s bar on the pool table. Brady makes quite the declaration to Brie at Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack’s (Martin Henderson) wedding. Then, Mike proposes to Brie — and reveals he knows about her and Brady’s night together! (We need to know how.) Why does he propose? Why does he think they can still have a future together? And while he feels that way, we can’t help but think that even if he gets a yes to the proposal that there’s not going to be a wedding, or there will be at least some sort of split in that relationship in Season 7.
