Courting Love! All About the ‘Suits’ Cast & Their Real-Life Romances
Suits might have wrapped up in 2019 after nine seasons filled with intense drama, riveting cases, and passionate romance, but the love for the legal drama remains.
So much so that a spinoff is coming to everyone’s TV screens in February. Suits LA is necessary in this dreadful time without our favorite legal drama to keep us company. Although Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) will reappear for a three-episode-arc, don’t expect all your favorite characters to return.
So, what have the actors been up to in the years since the show ended? What’s the status of their love loves? Scroll down to learn more about the personal lives of the Suits stars we know and love.
Suits, Streaming Now, Peacock and Netflix
Gina Torres
Gina Torres and her husband, Kevin Wright, are rather private but do occasionally share snapshots of their exciting life together. The twosome are known to attend a fun event or two together. They’ve been dating since 2017.
Prior to her relationship with Wright, Torres was married to actor Laurence Fishburne. They split in 2017, and their divorce was finalized a year later. Torres, who played Jessica Pearson, and Fishburne share one kid together.
Sarah Rafferty
Stumbling upon each other while attending Yale University, these lovebirds have been happily together ever since. Sarah Rafferty and Santtu Seppälä have been married since 2001. Tying the knot in Connecticut, the actor and her Finnish-American businessman have relocated quite a few times. The couple, who have two daughters, settled down in Los Angeles, but would all join Rafferty when she was shooting Suits in Toronto. She played the confident Donna Paulsen.
He is currently the Chief of Security at Staxxon. According to his LinkedIn, Seppälä is an entrepreneur, investor, and board member. Rafferty and Seppälä lead very busy lives, and Rafferty credited her husband for their success in an interview with Redbook: “I have an amazing spouse; we’re a team. He works, and I work, and we sort of do this dance with each other so that we can be present to our kids. But I think the whole ‘balance’ thing is an illusion; we just embrace the imbalance.”
Patrick J. Adams
Patrick J. Adams and Troian Bellisario are known to have shared the screen once or twice. After meeting on the set of a play in 2009, the two quickly became inseparable. Shortly after, they were both cast in their breakthrough roles, Adams as Mike Ross in Suits and Bellisario as Spencer Hastings in Pretty Little Liars.
Their shooting locations weren’t aligne, and the duo was thrust into a long-distance relationship. The pressure of this made them briefly break up, but when Adams auditioned for a guest spot on PLL, he won her back.
They never separated again and went on to make things official in 2016. In 2015, Bellisario also appeared on Suits. After both of their reigns on the hit series ended, Adams and Bellisario settled down and married in 2016. They began growing their family. They share two daughters, Aurora and Elliot.
The couple still keeps the romance alive as Bellisario wrote a sweet Instagram tribute for her husband’s 41st birthday. “The miracle of this universe (for me and my little corner of it) is that you were born and I was born within the same epoch. And somehow though there were many miles between us we found each other. And because we found each other two of the most precious souls could exist. The universe is chaos. You (for me) give it order. Happy birthday my love. Thanks for making this place make sense.”
Gabriel Macht
Ever since taking a break from acting, Macht and his wife, Jacinda Barrett, have been living it up together with their two children.
In a rare interview with PEOPLE, he revealed, “I got out of town and we’re exploring the world.” Dating since the millennium, the couple said “I do” in 2004.
Although Macht’s character Harvey Specter might have a tough exterior, in his own personal life, Macht is adamant that he is a family man. He told Women’s Day, “My relationships with my wife and my kids are my priorities.”
The 53-year-old is making a brief return as Harvey for the Suits LA series. “I had very little interest in coming back to work as an actor right now because I spent so much time [doing it] and this was my time to really raise my kids and to do this creative stuff,” he admitted. Still, he said it made “sense” for him to come back at this time, adding, “[I’ll] sort of pass the baton to Stephen [Amell] and the cast in L.A.”
Meghan Markle
Who would’ve ever thought that there would be a Suits crossover with the British royal family?
Of course, that didn’t actually happen in the fictional world, but most of the cast attended the lavish London wedding when Meghan Markle, who played Rachel Zane, and Prince Harry married in 2018.
Their love affair has been written about plenty of times. Crucified by the British press, the duo headed to California for a more peaceful existence. They decided to step down as senior royals and are now focusing on their production company, Archewell Inc. They have two kids, Archie and Lilibet.
Dulé Hill
Actors Dulé Hill and Jazmyn Simon aren’t just great entertainers, they are also loving people whose wisdom has helped plenty of kids.
Jumping into action in 2020 to write their children’s book Repeat After Me, which is based on “affirmations,” the item proved to be able to work well as a team.
Hill, who joined Suits in Season 7 as Alex Williams, opened up about their collaboration to the Pasadena Star News, “I say this often – it’s very easy for me to become a partner to Jazmyn Simon because she’s a wonderful writer.” He continued, “All I have to do is say, ‘You know what, baby, I think you’re missing a period there. I think we need a comma. I don’t know if that rhymes as well as it could. Why don’t ‘we’ go back and revisit that.”
Hill and Simon wed in 2018. They have two kids, Kennedy and Levi. Hill adopted Simon’s daughter, Kennedy, from another relationship.
Katherine Heigl
Meeting on the set of Josh Kelley‘s music video for his track “Only You,” the two have been inseparable ever since.
Impressed by his talent, the Grey’s Anatomy alum and Kelley quickly decided that they wanted to be in each other’s lives forever. They tied the knot in 2007.
The duo always have loving words to say about one another. “She’s so great,” Kelley said to PEOPLE. “We’re both kind of carbon copies of each other in some ways, and we have our differences, which makes things fun and exciting.”
Katherine Heigl, who joined Suits as Samantha Wheeler in Season 8, and Kelley have three kids together: Nancy Leigh “Naleigh” Mi-Eun, Adalaide Marie Hope, and Joshua Bishop.
Amanda Schull
Amanda Schull, aka Katrina Bennett, began her career as a ballet dancer and eventually switched over to the acting field.
This combination of talents — never forget Center Stage! — eventually landed her the job on Mao’s Last Dancer. While filming, she met her husband, George Wilson, on the set of that movie.
From getting together in 2008 to tying the knot in 2011, the couple knows how to make a relationship last. They welcomed their son in 2020.
Rick Hoffman
Rick Hoffman is not in a public relationship. He has one son, Cole. In 2021, Hoffman posted a video of himself looking at his smiling infant son on Instagram. He captioned it, “6 years ago…I’m so proud of my son, there are no words to describe. My love and joy.”
Wendell Pierce
The prolific Wendell Pierce recurred on Suits as Robert Zane, starting in Season 2. The actor has starred in countless TV shows and films over the years. Pierce has never married and has no children.
