The year 2024 brought lots of joy for many, yet for some, it also meant the end of an era (and, no, we’re not talking about the Eras Tour. Although we’re all still reeling from that).
From decades-long marriages splitting up to relatively new couples realizing they are not the right fit for each other, these 13 couples are heading into the new year with one less person by their side.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck
Everyone’s favorite rekindled relationship duo, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, called it quits in the past year. Their first round of romance began in 2002, but they called off their engagement before walking down the aisle. The two got back together in 2021 after a 17-year break. They tied the knot this time around, but Lopez and Affleck weren’t meant to last. She filed for divorce in August after two years of marriage. Despite their split, the famous exes are still on good terms.

Jenn Tran and Devin Strader
Jenn Tran proved that fairytales don’t always work out the way you want to. Becoming a historic Bachelorette as the first Asian-American lead in the franchise’s history, her love story didn’t get a happy ending.
She accepted Devin Strader’s proposal when he asked to marry her, but she soon came to regret it. His demeanor changed as soon as the cameras stopped rolling. Before the After the Final Rose special even aired Strader called off their engagement in a 15-minute phone call. She has since moved on with her DWTS partner,

Cameron Mathison and Vanessa Mathison
After 22 years of marriage, Cameron and Vanessa Mathison decided that their partnership wasn’t working anymore.After meeting in 1998 on a modeling assignment, the two became inseparable. It didn’t take long for the General Hospital star to go onto one knee, and the former couple made things official in 2002. Sharing two kids together, Lucas and Leila, they emphasized still being committed to them as they head into the next phase of their lives.

Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum
Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum were first linked together while working on her directorial debut, Blink Twice, in 2021. They kept their romance private at first, but they quickly had some high-profile outings, from Kravitz riding on the back of Tatum’s BMX to attending the Met Gala together. They became a Hollywood “It” couple.
They got engaged in 2023 but split October 2024. Two months after their breakup, Kravitz praised Tatum for his performance as Slater King in Blink Twice. They will once again work together on the upcoming film, Alpha Gang.

Nikki Bella and Artem Chigvintsev
In a shocking turn of events, the Dancing with the Stars duo broke up after Artem Chigvintsev was arrested on a charge of felony domestic violence. Charges were never filed due to insufficient evidence.
They dropped the dual restraining orders against each other in November 2024 in an attempt to co-parent their son, Matteo.
Throughout their time as a couple, they had a lavish Parisian wedding in 2022. They first met while paired up on Dancing with the Stars.

Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist
Another major Bachelor Nation breakup was announced in 2024, the one between Golden Bachelor couple Gerry Turner and winner Theresa Nist. The two had a televised wedding in January and told the world about their split on Good Morning America in April.
Turner and Nist couldn’t agree on where to live as their plans to move to Charleston didn’t pan out. Neither one of them wanted to relocate to the other’s home state, Indiana or New Jersey. Hopefully, Golden Bachelorette couple Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple have a brighter future ahead of them.

Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly
The rapper and actor duo had two big announcements this year. Their first one was a little more joyous than the last.
Megan Fox told her social media followers about her pregnancy in November 2024, but just weeks later, she and Machine Gun Kelly had ended their on-off relationship. With alleged cheating on MGK’s end, fans have been rallying behind Fox. With a baby on the way, they will be staying in each other’s lives for quite some time.

Christina Haack and Josh Hall
HGTV powerhouse Christina Haack and realtor Josh Hall, broke off their three-year marriage in 2024. Hall filed for divorce on July 12, 2024, with Haack filing a few weeks later.
They were supposed to compete together against Hall’s ex-husband Tarek El Moussa, and his wife, Heather Rae Moussa, on The Flip Off, but their split changed everything. The couple’s divorce will play out in the first season. The 41-year-old candidly admitted that her relationship with Hall had to end as her kids begged her to leave him.

Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo
Okay, Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo, didn’t actually end their marriage in 2024 but 2023.
Their split just didn’t become public knowledge until January 2024. Having been attached to the hip since their televised proposal in 2017 on The Bachelorette, the two confessed to issues that became apparent when the cameras stopped rolling. They tied to knot in a private ceremony in 2019, but they didn’t make it to their five-year anniversary.
“I would probably say maybe I saw signs before [the marriage], but as women, we’re fixers, and we think we can figure it out,” Lindsay recently said on The View. “Eventually, I saw it more, I would say, within two years.”

Zach Bryan and Brianna LaPaglia
The country crooner and TikTok star made some serious headlines when they broke up in October 2024. Bryan bought a house in LaPaglia’s home state of Massachusetts, and they even adopted a dog together, but their relationship didn’t survive.
On her BFFs podcast, LaPaglia alleged that the “I Remember Everything” hitmaker alienated her from her friends and was verbally abusive. She also claimed that he had offered her $12 million dollars to keep quiet about his faults. She declined and went on to detail the end of their year-long relationship.

Sacha Baron Cohen & Isla Fisher
Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fischer are no longer together as of 2024. For years, they were seen as the epitome of a happy couple, but the actors announced their split in April 2024. They had been separated since 2023. The private duo didn’t reveal much about what happened between them, but they are dedicated to co-parenting kids Olive, Elula, and Montgomery.

Teddi Mellencamp & Edwin Arroyave
The Bravolebrity and her husband, Edwin Arroyavo, ended their 13-year-long marriage in November 2024 when Teddi Mellencamp filed for divorce.
They were allegations of infidelity on both sides. Mellencamp seemed to address her faults in an Instagram message: “I have cried and mourned. I have taken accountability and apologized for things I have done wrong. Now, I have given myself permission to grow and thrive.”
The two do seem to be on good terms as they celebrated Thanksgiving together with their three children, Slate, Cruz, and Dove.

Leah Remini & Angelo Pagan
Leah Remini and Angelo Pagan shared that they were doing “what’s best for u” and that meant getting a divorce after 21 years of marriage. A relatively quick split, they announced their divorce in August. By October, it was finalized. Seemingly no bad blood between the two ex-spouses, they are still joint parents to daughter, Sofia Bella.
