‘Love Is Blind’: The 13 Cringiest Moments So Far, Ranked
Netflix
Some people mistakenly believe that watching reality dating shows makes you more excited to go out there and find your own perfect match. Those people have clearly never watched Love Is Blind . Some episodes of this show are more likely to make us swear off dating altogether and scream into a pillow than start swiping on Hinge.
That’s not to say we don’t love watching the show and put fake meetings into our work calendar as soon as new episodes drop. Love Is Blind is one of the most enjoyable shows on Netflix. But despite its devoted fandom, Love Is Blind is filled with some of the cringiest moments possible. There are countless times we’ve had to pause and just gape at what a contestant has done, and here are the 13 most cringe-worthy moments.

13. The duck ride (Season 7) At the time of watching Season 7, we were more focused on Hannah ‘s reaction to Nick riding an inflatable duck than the action itself. She declared it to be “such an ick” and rolled her eyes, which made us want to support his decision. But upon reflection, even we can’t deny that this was a scene that made us cringe. Nick walked over to the (not real) ducks and started trying to propel one forward. Then, he ended up in a race with an older woman inspired by his antics. We’re not sure what the purpose of these ducks was (perhaps someone from the resort can provide an inside scoop), but they moved awkwardly, and it gave less “race” and more “frenzy.”

12. "I'm gonna hold that." (Love Is Blind: UK ) Sam and Nicole’s entire relationship could be filed under the cringiest moments within the Love Is Blind univers. From when he insisted that he would never ever ever hurt her (which elicited a look of fear from Nicole) to when he discussed his own attractiveness, we spent most of their courting period with our hands over our ears. While Benaiah might not be other people’s cup of tea, it was clear that he and Nicole were a far better fit, and luckily, she realized as much. But the cherry on top of the cringe was definitely Sam and Nicole’s first meeting. The absolute panic and regret in her eyes as she beheld him, and their awkward fumbling with the ring. Nicole later felt that putting the ring on the wrong finger was a sign. To top it all off, when Sam was leaving, he told Nicole that he loved her, and she responded, “I’m gonna hold that.” Yikes. She only held it for a few days before calling off the engagement and meeting up with Benaiah.

11. "One of the most awkward moments of my life." (Season 7) One of the biggest fears of going on Love Is Blind is whether your partner would be disappointed when they set eyes on you. While the premise is that looks don’t matter and you’ve already fallen in love with the person, certain first meetings continue to fuel this doubt. Brittany and Leo in the most recent season are one such case. While Leo seemed thrilled to see Brittany , she had a lot less enthusiasm. He kept trying to kiss and touch her, while she just seemed uncomfortable. When asked how she felt about being engaged, she grimaced and said, “Weird.” In a confessional, Brittany admitted that “this is definitely one of the most awkward moments of my life.”

10. Cameron's rap (Season 1) Cameron Hamilton mistook himself for Alexander Hamilton for a second and decided to rap about his feelings to his fiancée, Lauren, and her mom. “The course is like a crash collision before every choice we make is like a rash decision,” and many more lyrics were spewed in that kitchen. Lauren was seemingly enamored by the display, while her mom looked a little taken aback but went along for the ride. On the other hand, viewers were cringing as he continued to “spit those bars” for two whole minutes.

9. The makeup discussion (Season 6) Nothing is more beautiful than the internet coming together to call out a person collectively. This time, it was JP after he unnecessarily shared his opinions on makeup. JP told Taylor that he felt “put off” by how much makeup she wore when they first met in person after the pods. He implied that her makeup made her appear “fake” and suggested he preferred her natural look. While everyone has different preferences, he had a very judgmental and dismissive tone, referencing makeup stains left on his shirt collar. They split soon after, as Taylor not only felt that makeup was a form of self-expression, but saw this as symbolic of his lack of emotional communication and ability to connect. This moment made every makeup-wearer cringe at his tone and attitude. Taylor had the last laugh when she arrived at the reunion looking fabulous with stunning makeup.

8. Jeramey's jet ski moment (Season 6) Where do we even start with Jeramey in Season 6? After much deliberation between Laura and Sarah Ann, he finally decided to propose to the former. That should’ve been the end of it, but as always with Love Is Blind , the past crept back. Tensions started when Sarah Ann messaged Jeramey to let him know that she was still an option if things didn’t work out with Laura. Jeramey supposedly didn’t respond but liked the message, although viewers have since doubted this. Then Jeramey stayed out until 5 a.m. after “accidentally” meeting Sarah Ann at a bar. He lied about his whereabouts but forgot that he had shared his location with Laura beforehand. At the group mixer, Laura took him aside to end their relationship properly, but he was defensive throughout. Immediately after, Jeramey went to ride jet skis with Sarah Ann, and their relationship flourished from there. Watching the two of them giggle and yell as they crashed through waves, while Laura cried on the shore, was something we felt down to our souls.

7. Shaina or Natalie? (Season 2) Let’s head back to the pods for this next moment, which was painful enough as a viewer, let alone if you were one of the two involved. Shayne had been dating both Natalie and Shaina in the pods and made the rookie mistake of guessing which one was there with him. He guessed Shaina instead of Natalie and said, “That’s who I was hoping for. What are you wearing over there?” Natalie was not impressed and informed him of his mistake. Rather than apologizing and moving past the incident, Shayne reacted extremely defensively and said, “If you think I’m a d**k, that’s kind of weird.” Make it stop, please.

6. Shake's inappropriate questions (Season 2) When someone gets recruited for E!’s House of Villains , you know that they really made some enemies on their original show. No one was surprised when Shake joined Season 1 of the new show, as he is still considered one of the most unlikeable contestants on Love Is Blind to date — although Season 7 provided some stiff competition. Despite the show’s premise focusing on truly blind dating and not knowing how your potential partner looks, Shake attempted to cheat the system with a series of inappropriate questions. He asked a potential partner whether she liked to go to the gym and was dismayed when she said she didn’t. He asked his soon-to-be fiancée, “Would I be able to carry you on my shoulders at a music festival?” The audience and female contestants cringed at these superficial and shallow questions, as well as his clear preference for slim women.

5. Messica (Season 1) Jessica Batten was a memorable contestant in Season 1, and fans nicknamed her “Messica” due to her chaotic and dramatic behavior. It encompassed the messiness of her relationships, decisions, and interactions, particularly when drinking. It’s hard to narrow down the top “Messica” moments, but we tried our best. There’s the time she allowed her dog to drink wine from her glass. She flirted with Barnett during group gatherings and made comments implying she still had feelings for him, despite Barnett being engaged to Amber and Jessica with Mark. Or when Amber called out her behavior at the bachelorette party, and she responded by kissing her on the mouth. The list goes on, but we can handle only so much cringe in a day.

4. Raven's active listening (Season 3) During the pods, Bartise was briefly dating both Raven and Nancy, before choosing to propose to the latter. One incident that may have influenced this decision was when he decided to share some of the struggles he faced in the past… only to realize that Raven was doing jumping jacks in the meantime. Somehow, we don’t think that’s what experts meant with “active listening.” When Bartise asked her if she was working out, she confirmed it as if it was no big deal. Bartise ultimately realized he and Raven lacked emotional depth and felt Nancy was more in tune with him. Tip for those of you currently out there dating: Stop working out when someone begins spilling their trauma to you.

3. Giannina's confession (Season 1) Have you ever been in that uncomfortable position of watching a couple argue in front of you? They’re trying to pretend they’re not arguing by using a calm yet loaded tone, and they’re throwing some of their darkest truths out there, and all you can do is smile and act as if nothing is happening? That’s exactly how it felt to watch this confrontation between Giannina and Damian, especially as the two weren’t even standing in the same room as their argument unraveled. Giannina confronted Damian about their lack of physical and emotional connection. She felt he was pulling away from her, particularly in terms of intimacy. Famously, Giannina asked Damian, “Do you know how you tell me this is the best sex of your life? Have you noticed I don’t return the compliment?” Damian, and viewers, were visibly shocked by the statement. He managed to retort that she was usually the one to initiate intimacy, to which she responded, “Exactly!”

2. The bean dip joke (Season 6) Unfortunately, we’re not talking about the kind of bean dip accompanied by guacamole— we wish! Instead, we’re talking about the bean dip fiasco of Season 6. Some viewers brushed past this awkward moment and didn’t fully understand the context, while others took to social media to discuss how distasteful and sexualizing this situation was. Laura joked to her fiancé Jeramey that he should “bean dip” AD. He then repeated this to AD, with her fiancée Clay beside her. Clearly taken aback, AD responded, “Do not, I will fight you,” before AD’s partner Clay said the joke had offended him. Jeramey was furious with Laura for setting him up in this way, and she went over to AD to explain why it had been taken out of context. Either way, it was a moment that made us cover our eyes and ears.

1. Andrew's TMI (Season 3) Andrew is best remembered as the contestant who put in eye drops to make it seem like he was crying about Nancy’s rejection in the pods. But that’s not the only standout moment he had in his short time on the show, as there’s also when he unnecessarily boasted about his sex life to Nancy — which may be why said rejection happened. He described his use of “tantric techniques” during intimacy, claiming that these methods allowed him to prolong and enhance the experience for himself and his partner. “That was my first experience doing orgasmic pleasure,” he revealed when oversharing about his sexual escapades with a 41-year-old woman he dated in Bali. “At this point I’m able to have sort of mini orgasms without ejaculating during sex,” he boasted to a terrified Nancy. What made this moment so cringey was how many of us have had to sit and listen to similar rhetorics on a date. In the eternal words of Shania Twain: “That don’t impress me much.”
