8 Hallmark Pairings We Need to See Next Countdown to Christmas’

Robert Buckley in 'The Christmas House,' Bethany Joy Lenz in 'A Biltmore Christmas'

It’s just barely December, and we’re already looking forward to the sleighful of new fare the Hallmark Channel may be delivering next year. That’s because we cannot get enough of the onscreen couples and casting choices that make their Countdown to Christmas rom-coms sparkle. Honestly, Christmas on Call? Love. Deck the Walls? Yes, please. And don’t even get us started on the bro-tastic Three Wiser Men and a Boy.

The network and its Hallmark+ streaming service have so many fan-favorite actors on hand to star in these movies that it’s almost impossible to keep track of who has worked with whom. A lot of them have done several movies together, but there are also a few collaborations we’re waiting to drop. So here’s to seeing some of these folks mingling all the way to our screens in 2025… we even left a plate of possible storylines for ya, Santa!

Lacey Chabert in 'The Christmas Quest,' Jonathan Bennett in 'The Groomsmen: Second Chance'
Hallmark Media / Eva Rut Hjaltadottir / Pooya Nabei

Lacey Chabert and Jonathan Bennett

Gretchen Weiners and Aaron Samuels strike again! The  Mean Girls alums were both in 2010’s Elevator Girl but never shared scenes, so we’d love to see Lacey Chabert and Jonathan Bennett team up as rival dog trainers who fall for the same client over the holidays. They could call it Fetching Christmas!

Robert Buckley in 'The Christmas House,' Bethany Joy Lenz in 'A Biltmore Christmas'
Allister Foster / Hallmark Entertainment / Everett Collection / David Scott Holloway / Hallmark Channel

Robert Buckley and Bethany Joy Lenz

Another reunion waiting to happen is One Tree Hill survivors Robert Buckley and Bethany Joy Lenz. They clearly know their way around small town romances, they’re both great at comedy, and the fans would eat that combo-plate up. Gavin DeGraw could even record a song for the movie, which, of course, should be titled I Don’t Wanna Wait for Christmas.

Wes Brown in 'Deck the Walls,' Warren Christie in 'Our Holiday Story'
Hallmark Media / Paulina Stevens / Fred Hayes

Wes Brown and Warren Christie

Is it just us or do Wes Brown and Warren Christie look like brothers?! Or better yet, how about if Christie plays an actor filming a Hallmark Christmas movie based on the life of a normal guy, played by Brown. They could have inside jokes, mistaken identity twists, and a running “You really look familiar” gag.

Luke Macfarlane in 'Catch Me If You Claus,' Jake Foy in 'Ride'
Albert Camicioli / Hallmark Channel / Everett Collection / David Brown

Luke Macfarlane and Jake Foy

It’s about time Luke Macfarlane and Jake Foy got to cowboy up for a lil’ twist on the enemies-to-lovers trope, and we know how: One owns a Christmas tree farm, the other is a rancher who wants to buy up his land to expand, and both are chronically single and hot! Add in a whole town of busybodies who see the obvious sparks, some forced proximity, a Christmas Eve horseback ride and—viola!—you have Holiday on the Range.

Ser'Darius Blain in 'Christmas on Call,' Jordin Sparks in 'A Christmas Treasure'
Hallmark Media / Pooya Nabei / Luba Popovic / Hallmark Channel / Everett Collection

Ser'Darius Blain and Jordin Sparks

We have loved Holidazed‘s Ser’Darius Blain since he costarred in FOX’s short-lived dance drama The Big Leap, so why not put his footwork back to work in a musical romance with Jordin Sparks? She can be a famous singer, and he can be the struggling director who falls for her while shooting the music video for her new Christmas single! Call it A Chart-Topping Christmas and have Sparks record an original song. Wins all around!

Kristoffer Polaha in 'We Wish You a Married Christmas,' Nikki Deloach in 'Our Holiday Story'
Hallmark Media / Paulina Stevens / Eric Zachanowich / Everett Collection

Kristoffer Polaha and Nikki Deloach

Twenty years ago, Kristoffer Polaha and Nikki Deloach costarred on FOX’s Hawaiian-set soap North Shore. Imagine The White Lotus, but make it trashy. It was great. So we would not be mad if these two were sent off to an exotic location again, maybe to play exes who wind up at the same tropical resort after ditching their families for the holidays.

Kimberley Sustad in 'Game of Love,' Tyler Hynes in 'Three Wiser Men and a Boy'
Hallmark Media / Lindsay Siu /Allister Foster / Everett Collection

Kimberley Sustad and Tyler Hynes

In addition to cowriting Three Wise Men and a Baby and its sequel, Three Wiser Men and a Boy, Kimberley Sustad has also appeared in them in small roles. She’s also made movies with the franchise’s Andrew Walker and Paul Campbell (her co-writer), but she and Tyler Hynes have yet to play romantic partners. And we cannot accept this. As two of Hallmark’s most gifted comedic talents, these two would be a scream! Someone please make a Miracle on 34th Street spoof that casts Sustad as a single department store executive who begins to suspect that the snarky Santa-for-hire played by Hynes may actually be the real deal. We’ll be good all year if you do!

Brooke D'Orsay in 'Miss Christmas,' Maggie Lawson in 'Sugarplummed,' and Alison Sweeney in 'This Time Each Year'
Ricardo Hubbs / Hallmark Media / Everett Collection / Pooya Nabei / Geoff Neufeldt

Brooke D'Orsay, Maggie Lawson, and Alison Sweeny

Ladies and gentlemen, presenting We Three Queens! Sort of like a female version of The Groomsmen trilogy, we’d love to see a trio of original movies featuring Brooke D’Orsay, Alison Sweeney, and Maggie Lawson as sisters who all fall in love with royal heirs while on their own European holidays.
