The uplifting Masterpiece on PBS series All Creatures Great and Small returned for its fifth season with your beloved favorites back and some new faces. Skeldale House is opening its doors to plenty of changes this season and welcoming back Tristan Farnon (Callum Woodhouse).
The show, a remake of the long-running BBC series that ran from 1978 to 1990, has an incredible ensemble cast. From an Oscar winner to a Ted Lasso alum, the All Creatures Great and Small troupe is a talented bunch. Swooon is taking a look at some of the cast’s real-life loves and relationship statuses today.

Rachel Shenton
Rachel Shenton stars as Helen, a local farmer who falls in love (and later marries) James Herriot, played by Nicholas Ralph. In real life, Shenton is married to actor and filmmaker Chris Overton. They won the Oscar for Live Action Short Film in 2018 for The Silent Child. Shenton wrote and starred in the short, while her husband directed. Shenton and Overton have been married since 2018.

Samuel West
Samuel West plays tough-love veterinarian Siegfried Farnon in the Masterpiece on PBS series. West’s longtime partner is playwright Laura Wade, one of the writers and executive producers of Rivals. They have two daughters.

Ted Lasso fave Jeremy Swift joined All Creatures Great and Small in Season 5 as Mr. Bosworth. Swift is happily married to Mary Roscoe, who also played his wife on Ted Lasso. They have adopted two children together.

Anna Madeley
Anna Madeley stars as Mrs. Hall, the housekeeper at Skeldale House, in the remake. Madeley’s partner is fellow actor Geoffrey Streatfeild.

Tony Pitts plays Richard Alderson, Helen’s father, in the British series. The Emmerdale alum has been dating actress Katherine Kelly since 2022.

Woodhouse famously plays Siegfried’s lively younger brother, Tristan Farnon. The character has been overseas, but he returns in Season 5. Woodhouse is active on social media, but he doesn’t share much about his romantic life. He was previously linked to British actress Callie Cooke.

Juliet Aubrey joined the cast in Season 5 as Miss Grantley, an archaeologist who’s lived in Persia and is temporarily overseeing her brother’s estate. Aubrey has been married to production designer Steve Ritchie since 2001. They have two children.

Nicholas Ralph
Ralph made his television debut as James Herriot, who gets his first vet job working for Siegfried. James and Helen’s relationship is the show’s central romance, but Ralph keeps his personal life out of the spotlight. It’s unclear what his relationship status is today.
