Eddie O’Leary isn’t exactly hitting home runs as the new shortstop on his major league baseball team in New York City in the 1960s. He doesn’t have a single friend on the team, and his manager is demanding he do puff-piece interviews with Mark Bailey, a too-good-for-sports reporter who couldn’t be more his opposite. But as the two loners find friendship in each other in the big city, they might find there is more to each other than meets the eye.
