‘North of North’s Braeden Clarke Starred in Another Hit Romance That Will Surprise You

Netflix‘s North of North has almost everything you want from a TV rom-com, ranging from a main character who is figuring out her life to the out-of-town heartthrob with whom she belongs but can’t ever seem to find the right time with. In this instance, that heartthrob is Kuuk, played by Braeden Clarke.
0While some viewers may be seeing Clarke for the first time, he’s no stranger to the romance genre, having appeared in one of TV’s most popular genre hits. Although he didn’t necessarily play a leading role, nor a particularly romantic one, Clarke’s also known for appearing in Outlander as Kaheroton, a member of the Mohawk tribe that Ian Murray (John Bell) was adopted into beginning in Season 4 of the Starz hit.
In North of North, Clarke is nearly unrecognizable from his role in Outlander, which saw him don more traditional Mohawk attire and looks for the 18th-century setting. But it’s a fun fact for viewers of Netflix’s new comedy series starring True Detective: Night Country‘s Anna Lambe.

Starz
For those who have yet to tune into the sweet show, North of North follows Siaja, a young Inuk woman who wants to build a new future for herself after a spontaneous and extremely public exit from her marriage following a near-death experience. Her quest is easier said than done in a community where everyone knows your business.
During her journey, Siaja meets Kuuk, who is working on setting up a possible research center in her community known as Ice Cove. And while he’s an early romantic prospect amid her fractured marriage, other obstacles get in the way, particularly the fact that Kuuk has a girlfriend, Alexis (Taylor Hickson).
While Siaja and her colleagues try to win the bid to get the research center Kuuk is potentially setting up, Ice Cove doesn’t succeed, but Kuuk decides to stay along with Siaja’s father, Alistair (Jay Ryan), to set up a satellite office. Unfortunately for Siaja, Alexis has also decided to move to town, leaving her and Kuuk’s dynamic in limbo.
Will Siaja and Kuuk be able to sort out their feelings? We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for a second season to hopefully find out. In the meantime, let us know what you think of Clarke’s Outlander connection in the comments section below.
