He’s Taken! A Deep Dive Into Jelly Roll’s Marriage to Wife Bunnie Xo

Even before his country music career took off in 2022, Jelly Roll has had the unwavering support of his wife, Alyssa DeFord, who’s better known as Bunnie Xo. The two tied the knot on a whim in 2016 after he asked her to marry him while performing in Las Vegas, and they wed at a courthouse later that night.
Now, Jelly Roll is one of the biggest stars in Nashville, and he’s expanded his career in big ways. Not only is he currently the artist in residence on American Idol, but he’s even dabbling in acting with a role on Fire Country. One thing that hasn’t changed, though, is that Bunnie is still by his side.

How did Jelly Roll meet his wife?
The couple met while she was living in Las Vegas and attended one of his concerts in 2015. Although she was dating someone else at the time, they met backstage and kept in touch. Once Bunnie split from her then-boyfriend, she “shot [her] shot” with Jelly.

He found out she was interested and let her know that he was returning to Vegas for a music video shoot. She asked him to stay with her … and the rest was history. “It’s a white trash love story,” he once joked.
They were together for a year before spontaneously getting married, and they renewed their vows in 2023.
What did Jelly Roll’s wife do before they met?
Bunnie used to work as an escort and has been open about her past in the sex work industry. She officially left the industry in 2023 after shutting down her OnlyFans account.
Even after marrying Jelly, Bunnie continued bringing in money as a sex worker, and she has been very open about it.
“I have always worked & made money on my own, when I married J I refused to give up my independence & rely solely on him,” she explained in a 2024 Facebook post. “And to be honest he never once asked me to. He knew how important it was to me to make my own money. But he did always say, ‘One day baby you won’t have to do this anymore.'”
She also clarified that she stopped seeing clients and “having sugar daddies” in 2020, which is when she made her OnlyFans.
Amid her success as a sex worker, she made enough money to build her own brand, Bunnie Xo, which has been her source of income since she retired from the sex work industry. She now hosts a podcast called Dumb Blonde and is a social media influencer. “I also didn’t want to be the only wife in the country music scene whose butthole was on the internet,” she explained.
Do Jelly Roll and his wife have kids?
While Jelly Roll has two children from previous relationships — he shares daughter Bailee with Felicia Beckwith and son Noah with ex Melissa Ann Cowell — he and Bunnie don’t have any children of their own (although they have full custody of Bailee). However, the two have been open about wanting to start a family.

In June 2024, Bunnie Xo revealed that she had started in vitro fertilization treatments to have a child. She has said that they are exploring IVF and surrogacy to have a baby.
Bunnie offered an update in March 2025 and said she was “literally going through IVF treatments right now.” She explained that she wanted a biological kid of her own to “have a little piece of me, just a little piece wrapped in skin to add to the other two beautiful children we have together.”
What health issues did Bunnie Xo have?
In 2024, Bunnie Xo revealed that she was getting headaches after eating certain foods. A doctor conducted an MRI and told her she may have an aneurysm on her carotid artery. The podcast host’s mother almost died from an aneurysm, so she described this as one of her “biggest fears.”
However, a neurologist and vascular surgeon later confirmed that it was “a blood vessel that matches on the other side of your carotid artery on the other end.”
