Who Is Scottie Scheffler’s Wife? Inside His Marriage to Meredith Scudder

Scottie Scheffler is looking to repeat his 2024 performance at the Masters Tournament, but this time with his wife by his side. The pro golfer’s longtime love, Meredith Scudder, couldn’t be at the 2024 event (more on that below), but Scheffler is returning for another run this year.
While the two mostly keep their relationship out of the spotlight, they did appear in Season 3 of Netflix’s Full Swing, and Scudder has been there for most of Scheffler’s biggest professional moments.
Scroll down to learn more about Scudder and the pair’s relationship.
How did Scottie Scheffler meet his wife?
The two met while attending Highland Park High School in Dallas. They met their freshman year but didn’t start dating until they were seniors, with Scheffler once joking, “I had to woo her for a few years.”
In an interview with Golf Digest, Scudder recalled getting to know Scheffler for the first time. “At the beginning of high school I always thought he had a super humble ambiance about him, that he was just a really down-to-earth guy that doesn’t take himself too seriously,” she shared. “Even when he had amazing accomplishments, that wasn’t the most important thing about him.”
After their one-year romantic relationship in high school, the two went to different colleges. He attended the University of Texas, while she went to Texas A&M. However, they made the relationship work while dating long-distance.
When did Scottie and Meredith get married?
The lovebirds graduated their respective colleges in 2018 and Scheffler popped the question in June 2020. The engagement took place during a hike in Texas.
They wasted no time walking down the aisle. The pair’s nuptials took place in their Texas hometown on December 4, 2020. After saying their vows in a church, they had a reception at Arlington Hall.
One year later, Scheffler reflected on the special day in an Instagram post, gushing, “Very grateful for one year of marriage to my best friend! God is good.”
Do Scottie and Meredith have kids?
Scheffler and Meredith welcomed their first child, a son named Bennett, on May 8, 2024. “Welcome to the world little one. Your mom & dad love you so much,” the golfer wrote on Instagram to announce the news.

Scudder was nine months pregnant with Bennett when Scheffler competed in the 2024 Masters just weeks earlier. “If she calls me while I’m on the 17th [hole], then I better go home,” Scheffler admitted before the tournament began. Luckily, that didn’t happen. He finished the course and won.
However, before being named the victor, he told reporters, “Right now, the most exciting thing is not winning the Masters, it’s baby coming pretty soon.”
What does Meredith do?
Scudder helps out with the nonprofit organization Behind Every Door in Dallas, Texas. The organization exists “to see the fullness of God to transform lives in underserved neighborhoods,” according to its website. She is the “connections liaison.”
“I believe everyone has unique gifting. I love being part of an organization that is showing kids their giftings and giving them a chance to not only discover those gifts but see who God created them to be,” Scudder said.
