Are Spencer Pratt & Heidi Montag Getting a Reality Show? He Reacts to Fan Buzz
After Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag lost their home in the California wildfires earlier this year, fans began campaigning for a new reality show that documented the family getting back on their feet.
With Pratt already going viral on TikTok as he begged followers to stream his wife’s music so they would have money to start rebuilding, it quickly became clear that there was plenty of entertaining content to be had. The social media buzz helped revive Montag’s career as a pop star, but will a reality show be next? Pratt reacted to the idea in an interview with Swooon.
“I’m down for anything that helps my family,” Pratt, who’s appearing on the new Hulu series Got to Get Out, which premieres on April 11, teased. “Whatever’s going to happen, we’ll probably know after April 11. Anything that’s going to happen will definitely happen after that.”
For now, the couple and their two children are renting a place in Santa Barbara while figure out what they’re going to do next. “Our house still has a mortgage and property taxes but with no house on it,” Pratt explained. “So, obviously, the goal here is to just work really hard at all these opportunities that have been miracle blessings that have been coming through, and ideally, would love to rebuild our house.”
However, the reality star noted that he’s not planning too far into the future right now. “One thing I’m really working on now is now to imagine the future that I think,” Pratt admitted. “My future is so different from the future I thought my whole life it was going to be. … My life was so different, so now I try to not emotionally or mentally connect with what’s going to be our future. I’m just going to be in the present, work hard, stay healthy, and what’s going to happen is going to happen, is what I’ve learned the hard way.”
Of the support he and his family have received from the public in the aftermath of their tragedy, he added, “I keep joking, like, ‘I’m dead and this is a weird upside down world out of Stranger Things. Surprised doesn’t even … the way I’m treated places, how people talk to me, I went to a new dimension. Obviously, I liked my life before and my friends and family’s lives they’ve had. I’m not saying I’m happier now, but it is such a good feeling to have strangers everywhere you go say positive things to you. It’s a weird pendulum. You want to be so happy and, like, this is so amazing, but it came from such darkness.”
