Get to Know Jake Paul’s Girlfriend Jutta Leerdam & Their Relationship History
Jake Paul‘s relationship with fiancée Jutta Leerdam will be documented in his new series Paul American. After meeting online (more on that below), the couple has been together for nearly two years and got engaged earlier this month.
“We’re engaged,” they shared in a joint Instagram post on March 22. “We can’t wait to spend forever together.” There were also pictures of Paul’s proposal, which featured both stars wearing all-white outfits as he got down on one knee in the middle of hundreds of flower petals and candles.

Who is Jutta Leerdam?
Leerdam is a professional speed skater. Her passion for speed skating began when she was just 11 years old, and she has gone on to compete at the Olympics. At the 2024 Winter Games, Leerdam took home the silver medal in the 1000m speed skating competition.
Some of her other accomplishments include winning gold in the 1000m race at the 2020 World Single Distances Championships, and silver in the same race one year later. She then took the first place title back at the event in 2023. She also won bronze at the 2024 World Sprint Championships.

How did Jake Paul meet Jutta Leerdam?
The couple opened up about the start of their relationship in Netflix’s Countdown: Paul vs. Tyson in November 2024. When they first connected at the end of 2022, they were both fresh off of breakups — she had just ended her five-year romance with Dutch speed skater Koen Verweij, while he was newly single following a split from Julia Rose.

Of how they first met, Leerdam explained, “Jake sent me a DM on Instagram and asked me to be on his podcast. I was like, ‘Okay, well, let’s do it. Can be good. Can be nice.” From there, Paul started “flirting” with the athlete, he admitted.
“In the beginning, I wasn’t really into it,” Leerdam added. “When he hit me up online, I was like, ‘No, you look like this arrogant dou***bag who thinks he can just get whatever he wants.’ Well, not me! I never, ever expected to date him. Like, never. Of course, I didn’t know a lot about him. I could only scroll on his Instagram and right away have an opinion like the whole world does. But he is the complete opposite.”
When did Jake Paul and Jutta Leerdam start dating?
They first connected at the end of 2022 and went public with their relationship in April 2023. Their official anniversary is April 12, 2023, according to a one-year anniversary post that Leerdam shared on that date in 2024.
In June 2023, Paul opened up about how he and his then-girlfriend navigated their long-distance relationship. “Because we’re a long distance relationship, whenever she goes to sleep at night, I’ll send her three to five videos making her feel like she’s a part of everything we have going on at night,” he revealed.
