Sydney Sweeney & Jonathan Davino Call Off Their Wedding After Split Rumors
Sydney Sweeney and fiancé Jonathan Davino have called it quits, according to People. For weeks, Sweeney’s cryptic posts had fans wondering what was really going on in her relationship.
The couple got engaged in 2022, and the twosome remained mostly private over the years. Propelled into the world of celebrity since Euphoria dropped in 2019, Sweeney has allowed herself to have a clear boundary between her personal and private life — until now.
After gossip account DeuxMoi reported that Sweeney deleted a rare photo of herself kissing Davino from Instagram, fans started to speculate about what this meant for her relationship status with the businessman. Reports of her seemingly living without Davino at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles quickly followed.
Now, Sweeney has called off her wedding to Davino, People reports. She is focusing on her work at the moment. “She’s exactly where she wants to be. Most people would feel overwhelmed by her working schedule this year, but not Syd. She’s all about working right now and very excited about all her projects,” a source told the outlet.
The source added, “What did make her overwhelmed though was her relationship and her wedding. She didn’t feel right about it.” She’s “not ready to settle down” at this moment in time. “They only lasted for this long because it was hard for her to break it off,” the source revealed. “They didn’t split because there is no love. They split because she just wants to focus on her career right now.”
Sweeney hasn’t addressed the split speculation publicly, but the Anyone But You star took to Instagram to post some snapshots of her recent girls’ trip to Tanzania. She even wrote a sneaky caption, “Only up from here.” The carousel included images of Sweeney and her friend group in an air balloon.
Amid the split speculation, Sweeney attended Glen Powell‘s sister’s wedding in Dallas, Texas, in late March. Prior to the celebrations, the former leads met up at the members-only club Park House. Powell’s mother, Cyndy, set the record straight about her son’s relationship with Sweeney.
“They’re definitely not together,” Cyndy told the Daily Mail. She said the romance rumors about her son and Sweeney are “silly,” and the actress attended the wedding “with her friend.” Cyndy continued, “We love Sydney. We’ve considered her just a really, really good friend. We were all together so much and we haven’t seen her in a long time. She’s really a friend and we all enjoy her.”
