Love Is Blind Season 8 truly is the gift that keeps on giving.

The Minneapolis installment was supposed to be wrapped up after the reunion aired on March 9, but the drama was far from ever. Over two weeks later, tidbits of gossip are still being released to the public. Starting with the back-and-forth about whether contestants Sara Carton and Joey Leveille are dating, a new Season 8 pairing was brought to light.

This time around, the news surrounding the coupling was shared by the person involved. On the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Lauren O’Brien divulged that she dated pods participant Scott Sanderson. Their short-lived relationship began six months after filming ended.

Opening up to Amanda Hirsch, she explained that although her relationship with Scott didn’t last, for a while it looked serious as they even notified her ex-fiancé, Dave Bettenberg. “We explored it a little bit on our own first and then decided to bring it to [Dave],” she revealed. “It wasn’t the most fun thing to deal with in terms of, because he and Dave are friends.”

When the romantic connection between the two was expressed to Dave, he initially seemed fine with it and said he was “all good.” However, he later followed up with some conflicting statements. Lauren explained, “I think there were some other comments to other people about how it might have been too soon for me.” The 33-year-old added, “We broke up six months ago and it’s not like you and I have been chatting or anything. I didn’t feel like there was anything wrong with that.” The former Love Is Blind couple didn’t work out as Dave was unable to get over the fact O’Brien’s past with her ex.

Lauren and Scott are both part of the friend group dubbed the “Yee-haw Crew.” The others in that Love Is Blind clique are Sara, Joey, Taylor Haag, and Daniel Hastings.

Although Lauren and Scott have since reverted to a platonic relationship, the reality TV standout was quick to explain why their connection wasn’t that random. “When they bring people onto this, we take all of these compatibility tests with the goal being there are multiple people that you’re compatible with in the pods,” she said. “It’s not like you just show up and there’s one person that is there for you, and hopefully you find them.”

Lauren admitted that the twosome didn’t pan out romantically but confessed that they are “very good friends” to this day.
