‘When Calls the Heart’ Season 12 Finale: Elizabeth & Nathan Take Huge Step in Their Relationship

Elizabeth (Erin Krakow) and Nathan (Kevin McGarry) are turning the page on a new chapter in their relationship. The final moments of the Season 12 finale featured Nathan and Allie (Jaeda Lily Miller) making a major decision in order to be with Elizabeth and Little Jack (Hyland Goodrich).
The ending of the season brings new questions about Elizabeth and Nathan’s future. But one thing is crystal clear: Wherever Elizabeth goes, Nathan will follow – even if it means leaving Hope Valley.
In the middle of the night, Elizabeth decides to head to Cape Fullerton after Little Jack’s insulin shots weren’t properly refrigerated in transit to Hope Valley. Elizabeth had previously received word from Charlotte Thornton (Brooke Shields), Little Jack’s grandmother, that there was a new insulin lab in Cape Fullerton.
After Faith (Andrea Brooks) tells Elizabeth that it’s best for her and Little Jack to be “closer to a lab,” Elizabeth doesn’t waste any time. She quickly heads out in a taxi to get on the next train. Elizabeth knows Nathan’s out on rounds, so she writes him a letter.
Nathan arrives back at Elizabeth’s house just a smidge too late, but Allie gives him Elizabeth’s letter. Nathan and Allie get in a taxi of their own and race to catch up to Elizabeth and Little Jack. “Family sticks together, right?” Allie says when they’re all reunited.
Nathan doesn’t want Elizabeth to worry. They’ll figure out what’s next together. “Where you go, I go,” Nathan says to Elizabeth before they share a kiss. That’s a promise he intends to keep for the rest of their lives.
Elizabeth knows that the Cape Fullerton stay will last for “some time.” However, in her letter to Nathan, she promises to return to Hope Valley. Now that Season 13 has been confirmed, Hearties can rest assured that Elizabeth, Nathan, Little Jack, and Allie will make the journey back soon.
With this latest grand gesture, Nathan continues to prove how dedicated he is to Elizabeth and their family. Maybe Season 13 could be the season these two get engaged?
