‘The Bachelor’s Grant Ellis Teases ‘Uncomfortable’ Breakup With Runner-Up in Emotional Finale

Grant Ellis‘ stint as The Bachelor is almost over, but before he can say goodbye to his single status, he still has one important decision to make. Who does he want to spend the rest of his life with? Litia Garr or Juliana Pasquarosa?
On March 24, Grant will finally be able to reveal who he chose, and he is more than ready to share that with the world. Talking to Swooon about the life-changing choice he made a couple of months ago, the former basketball player admitted that the final leg of the journey wasn’t all sunshine and roses.
Grant “had an idea of what my heart wanted” at the end of his journey. However, he said “just mustering up the courage to tell somebody that you really care about that they’re not your first” made the whole situation difficult.
The lead knew that he was going to have a breakup conversation and an engagement on the same day, yet it was harder than he imagined. The 31-year-old recalled, “It’s weird because it’s one of the happiest days of your life, but before you do that, you have to break up with somebody that you really care about. It’s definitely a weird twist of emotions, and I just had to prepare.”
When asked what he felt during the talk with the runner-up, he acknowledged, “It was very uncomfortable, very uncomfortable,” though he quickly added, “But it led to something that is happy.”
Knowing that it will be aired for all to see during the March 24 finale event, Grant is not scared. He’s not even nervous about the confrontation on After the Final Rose. Grant stated to Swooon, “I’m not nervous, just because I know I was the most genuine person I could be. I led with my heart.”
Looking back, he reminisced, “I really tried to do things the right way, so whatever consequences come with that, I have to face them head on. Everybody’s going to have their own opinion on you and how you carried yourself, but coming from where I come from and being where I’ve been and just getting to experience this all, I couldn’t be more appreciative. I put my heart out there, and I was the most genuine person I could be. I have no regrets.”
