Despite being involved in the #MomTok community, Miranda McWhorter did not appear on Season 1 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives in 2024. However, a teaser for Season 2, which was released on March 10, revealed that she’s now part of the cast.

Miranda decided not to partake in Season 1 following her falling out with Taylor Frankie Paul, but now that she’s going to be on the show, Swooon has rounded up everything to know about the social media star.

Is Miranda McWhorter married?

Miranda was previously married to Chase McWhorter. The two met right after Miranda graduated high school, and they got married in 2017. At the time, Chase had just returned home from an LSD mission and slid into Miranda’s DMs. They went public with their relationship in 2016.

In August 2024, Miranda revealed that she and Chase had divorced. “I think we both realized that we’d gotten married a little prematurely, and that’s why our relationship still is pretty good [now], like, we’re really cordial, really friendly,” Chase told Us Weekly the following month. “[I] still chat with her a lot, whenever she drops the kids off, and vice versa. … I think it’s working out really well, and we’re kind of figuring out how to continue navigating that in a positive way.”

Was Miranda McWhorter involved in the ‘swinging’ scandal?

In 2022, #MomTok made headlines when Taylor revealed that she and her husband, Tate Paul, had a “soft swinging” relationship. When she announced their decision to divorce, she admitted that it was because she had stepped outside of their agreed-upon soft swinging arrangement. Although Taylor didn’t specify which other #MomTok couples were involved, it was widely speculated that Miranda and Chase were one of the other pairs.

Although the two denied their involvement at the time, Chase eventually gave some clarity. “It all started during Covid,” he explained to Us Weekly, adding that “a bunch” of couples came together and would “get trashed on alcohol, and then, like, these games would come up. Spin the bottle or whatever.”

Chase admitted that he and Miranda were “participating in some of the party games,” but clarified, “It was never predetermined that we were going to be doing, like, swinging. That’s what we always thought was a little bit misrepresented in Taylor’s story, as she presents it.”

He pointed out that all of the couples grew up Mormon and never “dabbled in some of the stuff that you’d probably just get through and experience in college or high school. But I don’t really ever think anyone thought, ‘We’re gonna eventually, like, switch and then have sex with that person.'”

Why wasn’t Miranda McWhorter on Mormon Wives Season 1?

In an August 2024 interview, Miranda said that she and Camille Mundy turned down offers to appear on the show. “Camille and I had multiple interviews, or calls, with [Hulu,]” she said on The Weekly Trash podcast. “She and I agreed that it just [gave us,] like, a pit in our stomach, every time. For our lives, it just didn’t feel right at all. I already got exploited on the internet without my consent. You think I’m gonna ask for that?”

In a TikTok video, Taylor seemingly accused her former friend of being “full of s**t” and claimed that certain MomTokers (speculated to be Miranda and Camile) tried to negotiate that they’d only be on the show if she wasn’t. “Thank goodness I have witnesses for this one. I hate to do this, but it’s just not how it went … once again,” she alleged.

The next day, Miranda shared text messages between herself, Camille, and her manager to prove her side of the story. In one message, she wrote, “Yeah, I wish I could make a decision after I knew what the verdict was going to be with her, but either way, it’s probably not good for me.”

Does Miranda McWhorter have kids?

Miranda and Chase share two children. Their son, Brooks, was born in September 2019, followed by daughter Cohen in October 2021.
