‘The Bachelor’s Arie & Lauren Luyendyk Are Expecting Baby No. 4 After Vasectomy Reversal
Less than one month after Arie Luyendyk confirmed that he’d had his vasectomy reversed, The Bachelor alum is expecting another baby with wife Lauren Luyendyk. The couple announced the news via Instagram on Monday, March 10.
“Our last missing piece,” Lauren wrote. “Coming this September.”
She also shared photos from a maternity shoot where her bare baby bump was displayed in a pair of loose jeans and a cropped white shirt while Arie held up a sonogram. Arie and Lauren are already parents to daughter Alessi and twins Sienna and Lux, who all took part in the photo shoot on the beach.
In another sweet shot, the twins cuddled up to their mom’s stomach, while Arie and Lauren shared a romantic moment looking into one another’s eyes in a third image. There was also a YouTube video that dove more into the full story.
When the new baby is born, Sienna and Lux will be four years old. Lauren gave birth to the twins in June 2021, and afterwards, Arie got a vasectomy. However, in a February YouTube video, he revealed that he had a reversal because he and his wife were ready to expand their family again.
“Six months into us having newborn twins, Arie scheduled his vasectomy without consulting me first,” Lauren shared. “He’s like, ‘OK, it’s happening, we gotta do this.’ And we did and I got on board.” It wasn’t until the twins were a bit older that Arie started thinking about reversing his vasectomy. Lauren admitted, “He totally convinced me that that chapter’s closed, and I came to terms with that and now have to get out of that again.”
Arie and Lauren met on Season 22 of The Bachelor. She was the runner-up after he chose to propose to Becca Kufrin at the final rose ceremony. However, just weeks after the proposal, Arie began having second thoughts and wound up reaching out to Lauren to catch up. By the time the season finale aired in March 2018, he and Kufrin had split. At the live finale, he proposed to Lauren, and they got married just nine months later. Lauren was already pregnant with Alessi at the wedding.
