General Hospital‘s Lois and Ned were one of the ABC soap’s most beloved supercouples back in the day, and they became a real-life romance as well. Rena Sofer and Wally Kurth were married from 1995 to 1997 and share a daughter, Rosabel.

Since Sofer’s return to GH in 2023, she’s been working alongside her ex-husband again. Like in real life, Ned and Lois are now exes but share a daughter named Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton). The actress discussed sharing the screen with her ex in a candid interview.

“It’s always strange to work with someone that you were married to, but coming back and working with Wally has been great,” Sofer told Woman’s World. “We’ve been able to really just enjoy it.”

Kurth has been married to Debra Yuhasz since 2003. Sofer married Sanford Bookstaver that same year and welcomed a daughter, Avalon, in 2005. The couple split in 2017 but got back together in 2019. They remarried in May 2024. “I remarried my best friend and soulmate again! Life with you has never been better, and I’m the luckiest man alive to get to spend the rest of my life with you @rena.sofer,” Bookstaver wrote on Instagram at the time.

It’s been nearly a year since they remarried, and Sofer gushed that they’re “still in the honeymoon phase.”

She also opened up about the period of her life after divorcing Bookstaver and before their reunion. “When we got divorced, I had no interest in dating, so I opened my life to a bunch of different things,” Sofer revealed. “Now, we kinda want to semi-retire, so my bucket list is building a home that we don’t have to ever leave if we don’t want to. There will be a big studio downstairs for my woodworking and ceramics, and a dog room so we’re able to foster and keep our animals and give them space outside.”
