Food Network Alum Giada De Laurentiis Spills on Private Life With Boyfriend in Rare Interview
Giada De Laurentiis mostly keeps her relationship with longtime love Shane Farley out of the public eye. However, while chatting about her everyday habits on The Liz Moody Podcast, she made a few mentions of the special man in her life.
The former Food Network star spoke with podcast host Liz Moody about her healthy living secrets and revealed how Farley helps her stick to her goal of getting up and walking as much as possible.
“You can do it with your friends. You can be like, ‘I got eight [thousand] today, what did you get?’ I do it with my boyfriend all the time,” she shared. “I’m like, ‘How many steps did you get?’ He’s like, ‘I got 10,000.’ But he has longer legs. He moves faster than I do. I have to do double time to catch up with him.”
At another point in the interview, she referenced Farley while discussing her nighttime routine. “Usually around 5:00, I start making dinner,” she shared. “My daughter comes in around 6 [p.m.] because she does theater rehearsals and then I just hang out with her for a while. She either comes in the kitchen or we chitchat. We eat dinner, my boyfriend does the dishes, and then I usually will go chill with my boyfriend or daughter depending on who needs what from me.”
De Laurentiis shares her teenage daughter, Jade, with ex-husband Todd Thompson. She and Thompson were married for 11 years before divorcing in 2014.
The celebrity chef was still married to Thompson when she met her now-boyfriend in 2013. Farley was hired to produce a talk show that starred De Laurentiis and Bobby Flay, and although the show never panned out, Farley and De Laurentiis stayed friendly. The relationship turned romantic in 2015 when Farley moved to Los Angeles to work on the daytime talk show FABLife, which was filmed where De Laurentiis’ production company was located.
Although the pair started hanging out just as friends, things eventually developed into something more, and now they’ve been together for nearly 10 years.
