‘The Bachelor’s Grant Ellis Reveals If Dina’s Hometown Drama Led to Her Elimination
Grant Ellis‘ journey on The Bachelor is getting down to the wire. With just a few weeks left until the finale, each week is a tough decision. Grant went to each of his final 4 women’s hometowns for a visit in the March 3 episode. In a surprise twist, he did not meet Dina Lupancu and Zoe McGrady‘s families.
Dina explained in the March 3 episode that half of her family was supportive of the process and the other wasn’t, so she decided to ax the introduction altogether. At the next rose ceremony, Dina did not receive a rose. Swooon spoke with Grant about whether or not Dina’s decision to not introduce him to her family played a role in her elimination.
“No, it didn’t play a factor,” Grant told Swooon. “I was more concerned about how she felt. But, you know, not everybody has a perfect family. Not everybody’s family gets along, so to expect that and then say, let’s not bring somebody forward because of that issue, it wouldn’t be fair. So it didn’t play a big factor.”

In the months since her elimination, Dina has thought about whether or not she made the right call.
“I really think it could have [made a difference]. Because how are you going to get engaged in two weeks and not have met my family? How am I supposed to feel that my family hasn’t gotten a chance to meet you?” she told Swooon and other journalists.
She continued, “Half of my family were okay with it, and the other half were fighting about it. So I was like, ‘I don’t want me sitting there with Grant watching you guys fight about it [and saying], ‘It’s just too quick of process. She doesn’t know what she’s doing, whatever,’ while I’m trying to convince you that I’m ready to get engaged, and while I’m not even sure if I’m ready to get engaged in that moment because the time was coming up so quick. I definitely think about that. It could have been different.”
Dina and other eliminated contestants will open up about their Bachelor experience on The Women Tell All special, which is set to air on March 10. With the finale right around the corner, who will win Grant’s heart: Zoe, Litia Garr, or Juliana Pasquarosa?
