Inside Julianne Hough’s Relationship History: Her Past Loves & Dating Life Today
It’s almost time for the Oscars, and Julianne Hough will be front and center — or at least she will be during the red carpet segment of the night.
The Dancing with the Stars co-host has dabbled in acting and has created quite a recognizable name for herself. Diving straight into the awards ceremony glamour, she and red carpet co-host Jesse Palmer will be grilling the nominees and stars ahead of the show.

Is Julianne Hough dating anyone today?
Not publicly. The Footloose remake star appears to be currently single.
Hough sparked dating rumors when she was spotted dining with The Bachelorette alum Tanner Courtad in December 2024. Hough and Courtad, who competed on Charity Lawson‘s season, have not publicly confirmed whether or not this outing was romantic or strictly platonic.
Yet, she’s ready to fall in love again. “My heart is open, I’m ready for it, but I’m not actively looking for anything,” Hough revealed to PEOPLE in October 2024.
Right now, she is focused on self-care, which is something that will always be part of her life. Personal growth is one of her biggest pursuits. Hough opened up, “It’s not like it’s ever a destination. It’s just always going to be a part of my life. I really enjoy going on retreats and connecting, and it’s just a part of my life.”
Looking for love from an outside source, like a partner, is also important to her. However, she’s done a lot of self-reflection about. her love life recently. As a guest on Dax Shepard‘s Armchair Expert podcast, Hough divulged, “What I’ve realized over the years is I don’t know if I’ve ever truly been in love with someone, but I have loved the feeling of being loved. And so let me be what that needs to be so that I can be loved.”
Who is Julianne Hough’s ex-husband?
Although she famously dated Ryan Seacrest from 2010 to 2013, the two never tied the knot. Hough did, however, say “I do” to ice hockey player Brooks Laich in 2017.
Filing for divorce in 2020, Hough and Laich gave a joint statement to PEOPLE that said, “We have lovingly and carefully taken the time we have needed to arrive at our decision to separate. We share an abundance of love and respect for one another and will continue to lead with our hearts from that place.”
Five years after their wedding, they finalized their divorce. In 2022, Hough once again became a single lady.
Who has Julianne Hough dated in the past?
Speaking about her past lovers, Hough is generally pretty positive. She called the American Idol host “so lovely.”

Afterward, she went into depth about why their relationship failed. She revealed that Seacrest was so accustomed to people “using him” and wanted to make it clear that she wasn’t doing the same. “I overcompensated, was malleable to fit into exactly what somebody needed me to be for them to be happy,” she explained on Armchair Expert.
Prior to Seacrest, she dated country singer Chris Wicks and was engaged to her hometown love, Zack Wilson. Wilson eventually went on to marry her childhood best friend. She’s also been linked to Dane Cook and Ari Sandel.
In 2021, rumors swirled that she was dating actor Ben Barnes after they were spotted out together. However, these two are strictly friends. “They have been friends for eight years,” a source told PEOPLE. “There is nothing more to it.”
