6 Questions ‘Younger’ Needs to Answer If the Show Is Ever Revived
Younger has been having a major resurgence since it was added to Netflix. With some fans binging it for the very first time and others taking a trip down memory lane with a rewatch, there’s been more buzz surrounding the beloved TV Land series than ever.
Although Younger concluded with a seventh and final season in 2021, there’s always hope amongst fans that it could return. Whether it’s in the form of a spinoff or another season of the actual show doesn’t matter, just give the people what they want!
Unfortunately, there are no plans for Younger to return at the moment, but we’ve rounded up some of our burning questions that need to be answered just in case it ever does.
1. Do Liza and Josh actually end up together?
Forget Liza (Sutton Foster) and Charles (Peter Hermann). That ship has sailed, and there was a nice bow tied onto their story at the end of Younger. Even though they tried to get back together, it simply didn’t work, and that’s okay. They’re both mature adults and have been able to work together post-breakup before, so the fact that they ended things amicably upon realizing that they weren’t meant to be was a satisfying ending.

However, when it comes to Liza and Josh (Nico Tortorella), it’s a different story. Although their relationship ended long before the final season, there’s no denying the chemistry they have and sweet moments they continued to share, despite their age difference, throughout the series. The series finale left Liza and Josh’s future a bit open-ended, with the two of them unexpectedly coming face-to-face in a bar, mirroring their first meeting.
While their fate was left to be interpreted by fans, it was implied that they’re going to give their romance another go. But do they go through with it? Does it actually work out? We need answers!
2. What happened to Liza’s daughter?
You forgot she had a daughter, didn’t you? Before Liza disguised herself as a 26-year-old to get a job in publishing, she was busy raising her daughter, Caitlin (Tessa Albertson). Caitlin only played a small part in Younger, since she was an adult and living an independent life, but popped up every once in a while with life updates.

Since the original story didn’t delve too much into Caitlin’s past or present, there’s plenty of left to explore there. Maybe a spinoff centered around Caitlin could be the perfect way to bring this show back from the dead!
3. Does Kelsey make it in Los Angeles?
Kelsey (Hilary Duff) left Empirical to run her app-based publishing platform, Inkubator, at the end of the show. She was able to make the move after Hello Sunshine (Reese Witherspoon‘s company) agreed to back the startup. However, getting Hello Sunshine to invest meant that Kelsey had to move to Los Angeles.

With Kelsey ending the series as a single woman, there’s plenty left for her to do both professionally and personally, and a new city is the perfect place to do it. Is that another spinoff idea we’re manifesting? Sure is.
But will Kelsey be able to hack it in the City of Angels, away from her friends and the work colleagues she’s grown so close to? Will she and Liza stay in touch, or will the distance, combined with their age difference, cause the friendship to fizzle out?
4. Do Maggie and Cass make it work?
Despite a complicated history, Maggie (Debi Mazar) and Cass (Janeane Garofalo) had an epic enemies-to-lovers storyline in the final season of Younger. The show ended with them going on a date, sharing a kiss, and admitting to “really liking” each other.
But Maggie has always been an independent woman. Is this a relationship she’ll be able to make work? Will she ever be able to fully trust Cass? After all, this is the woman who labeled her as a transphobe because of the title of one of her old art shows, ultimately leading to Maggie briefly being “canceled.” However, she’s also the woman who helped Maggie get her career back on track. So, which side of Cass prevails?
5. Are Diana and Enzo still together?
Unfortunately, Diana (Miriam Shor) and Enzo’s (Chris Tardio) love story on Younger ended somewhat abruptly since she couldn’t return for Season 7 due to COVID-19 and scheduling conflicts. Diana did appear on one video call, which confirmed that she and Enzo were enjoying their honeymoon.

But there’s no denying that the two are very different. It was an issue at the beginning of their relationship, and although their love conquered all, it remains to be seen whether or not the marriage lasted for the long haul.
6. Will Charles find ‘the one’?
Charles wanted to get married. Liza didn’t. It’s ultimately why they broke up. Even though Charles has already had a wife and kids, it’s no secret that he longs for a commitment in the form of marriage, but does he ever find it? And how would seeing Liza and Josh together affect him?
