Who Did Olivia End Up With on ‘Scandal’? How Her Love Triangle With Fitz & Jake Wrapped Up
Scandal ended after seven seasons in 2018. Although romance was just a small portion of the show’s storylines, the love triangle between Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington), Fitzgerald “Fitz” Thomas Grant III (Tony Goldwyn), and Jake Ballard (Scott Foley) was one for the ages.
The series began with Olivia and President Fitz having a super sordid affair, so there were complications from the start. These were only amplified when Jake came around in Season 2. So, which suitor did Olivia end up with? Scroll down for a refresh!
Who did Olivia Pope end up with on Scandal?
Although the finale left things a bit open-ended, it’s insinuated that Olivia and Fitz finally got the love story they’d always wanted. The last episode featured the two spending the night together before Olivia was expected to head to jail as the head of B613.
However, her father, Eli/Rowan Pope (Joe Morton), came to her rescue in an unexpected way by testifying about his involvement in B613 and setting up Jake to take the fall as the face of the organization. With Olivia no longer heading to jail, the story was left open for her and Fitz to finally be together without complications.

While Olivia and Fitz always dreamed of a carefree life in Vermont together, the finale didn’t specify if they actually achieved that. Olivia was walking away from Washington D.C., seemingly leaving it all behind her, when Fitz pulled up in an SUV, got out of the car, and simply said, “Hi,” to which she replied, “Hi,” with a smile, implying that they were about to ride off into the sunset together.
What happened to Jake at the end of Scandal?
After Eli’s testimony, Jake was put behind bars, where he continued to dream of a life with Olivia that he would never get. He flashed back to images of her from their time on a remote island together, but in reality, he was in prison.
Jake had been married to Vanessa (Barbara Crampton) but killed her in Season 7 after she called him the “Vice President’s b**ch” because of his decision to protect Cyrus Beene (Jeff Perry).
Did Quinn and Charlie end up together on Scandal?
Yes, Quinn (Katie Lowes) and Charlie (George Newbern) got their happily ever after. After the two tied the knot earlier in Season 7, the final scene of the finale showed Charlie getting out of jail and reuniting with with his wife and their daughter, Robin.
Did Abby and David end up together on Scandal?
Sadly, Abby (Darby Stanchfield) and David’s (Joshua Malina) love story did not have a happy ending. Cyrus shot and killed David in the finale. However, David and Abby were together before his death. She visited his grave with Huck (Guillermo Díaz) in the last scene of the series.
