Bachelor Nation fans have been rattled by the news that The Bachelorette won’t be returning for its 22nd installment this summer. Reality TV stars and fans alike voiced their disappointment about the hiatus, and now Bachelor Nation alums Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt are explaining what they’ve learned on the inside.

Still tied to the producers working with the franchise, the Bachelor Happy Hour podcasters divulged some inside information they have recently received.

Starting off the episode with, “We have to address the news that The Bachelorette is on pause,” the 38-year-old, known as “Grocery Store Joe,” shared what their producers told them. “They are hopeful that it’s coming back. We’d like to think that it’s coming back, but we don’t know for sure.”

A little more bleak than originally reported, Pitt added a slightly more upbeat tone to the conversation. “We know that at this time the show is on pause. We know what you know. It does kind of feel like what happened with [Bachelor In] Paradise last year where they took the year off.”

The couple have an affinity toward Bachelor in Paradise because they met on the spinoff during Season 7. Since falling in love on the Mexico-set series, they have gotten married.

Pitt continued, “It didn’t air, they didn’t film, and this year they’re picking back up and we’ll have a 2025 season, and I think there’s an additional level of excitement around Paradise this year because there was that gap year.”

Insinuating that’s what might be happening with The Bachelorette, she also brought up the drama that followed Jenn Tran‘s season, which was the last Bachelorette season to air. “We know that Jenn’s finale was kind of a dumpster fire,” Pitt said.

She explained, “There was a lot of things going on with that season, both during airing and for months after so maybe a little pause and a refresh is going to be a good thing.”

So, what do you think? Do you agree with Amabile and Pitt? Will a year off be a good thing to happen to The Bachelorette? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
