‘Cobra Kai’s Tanner Buchanan & Mary Mouser Are Engaged! See Their Premiere Rings

Tanner Buchanan and Mary Mouser looked happier than ever while attending a premiere event to celebrate the final episodes of Cobra Kai. The pair posed together for photos on the red carpet and had fans buzzing when they lifted up their left hands for some of the shots.

Both actors wear wearing rings on their left ring fingers in the images, sparking rumors that they may have secretly gotten engaged!

The duo confirmed the news via Instagram on Thursday, February 13. “We’re so happy to finally share that we’re engaged,” they wrote. “This is such a special moment in our lives, the closing of one chapter and celebrating the continuation of another. We’re so grateful for the love and support, and though we’re partial to having our private moments, we’re excited to share this check-in to our world.”

Although fans have suspected an off-screen romance between Buchanan and Mouser for years, they have not publicly spoken about their relationship status. The two developed a close friendship while filming Season 1 of Cobra Kai, which premiered in 2018. Before the relationship turned into something more, they even had trouble filming romantic scenes together because of how close they were.

“The romantic scenes are what cause me the most anxiety. You could talk to Mary [Mouser] about this because she and I are such good friends,” Buchanan told Interview magazine in 2020. “When we had our first kiss scene in Season 2, they were asking us, ‘Are you ready?’ My heart was pounding, I was shaking. It just feels weird to go to that place, because we’re such good friends.” It’s unclear exactly when things developed into more than just a platonic relationship for the pair.

At the premiere event, Buchanan gushed over his love for all of the people he’s worked with on the Karate Kid sequel. “There’s not one person that we don’t hang out with and have fun with,” he told PEOPLE. “And we truly keep saying that we’re going to be around in each other’s lives forever. I don’t know how to explain it. It’s just really crazy, weird, cool family connection that we’ve built over the past seven and a half years. None of us are ever not going to be in each other’s lives.”
