It’s been three years since Season 2 of Euphoria came to an end, and with Season 3 just beginning production, it’s going to be quite some time before we can catch up with the show’s characters.

Season 2 featured love triangles between Rue (Zendaya), Jules (Hunter Schafer), and Elliot (Dominic Fike), as well as Nate (Jacob Elordi), Cassie (Sydney Sweeney), and Maddy (Alexa Demie). Plus, the chemistry built all season between Lexi (Maude Apatow) and Fez (Angus Cloud).

But which couples actually made it work by the time the finale rolled around? Scroll down for a refresh!

Were Rue and Jules together at the end of Euphoria Season 2?

Rue ended Season 2 single as she decided to focus on herself and her sobriety. She and Jules shared an emotional moment, which featured tears as Jules admitted to her ex, “I love you and I miss you.” Rue ended the conversation by giving Jules a kiss on the forehead and walking away from her. “Jules was my first love,” she narrated. “I’d like to remember it that way.” She also revealed in a voiceover that she stayed clean for the rest of the school year.

It was a season of highs and lows for Jules and Rue, who finally got together in the first half of Season 2. However, Rue was hiding her relapse from Jules. While using drugs again, she struck up a friendship with Elliot, and the three of them started hanging out. Jules and Elliot hooked up behind Rue’s back, which is when he finally came clean to her that Rue was using again. This sparked a concerned Jules to share the news with Rue’s mom, which led to Rue’s spiral and the very volatile end of her relationship with Jules.

Meanwhile, Jules and Elliot’s relationship never progressed past their hookup. The season ended with Rue and Elliot sharing a full-circle moment. “I think you might’ve accidentally saved my life,” she told him, and he let her know that he hoped they could still be friends.

Did Cassie and Nate end up together in Euphoria Season 2?

Nate broke up with Cassie during the Season 2 finale, but it came after a dramatic turn of events throughout the season.

While spiraling amid her family’s intervention, Rue exposed Cassie and Nate’s relationship to his ex (and her best friend) Maddy. Although Cassie made it clear that she didn’t sleep with Nate until after he and Maddy broke up (three weeks and three days after, to be exact), it was obviously still a point of contention between the ladies.

Despite the blow-up the relationship reveal caused, Cassie was still willing to give up everything to be with Nate. “I’ve ruined my entire life for you,” she pointed out as she agreed to move in with him. However, it didn’t take long for things to fall apart.

The final two episodes of the season centered around Lexi’s play, which featured her sister (Cassie) and the other cast members as main characters. After Nate saw the way things were portrayed in the play, he ended things with Cassie. “Pack your s**t, get the f**k out of my house,” he told her. “I’m f**king done.”

A heartbroken Cassie told Maddy about the breakup during the Season 2 finale. In what may have been a peace offering, Maddy told her frenemy, “Don’t worry. This is just the beginning.”

Were Lexi and Fez together at the end of Euphoria Season 2?

Lexi and Fez were not officially together at the end of Season 2, but their relationship certainly seemed to be heading in that direction.

Although Lexi and Fez couldn’t be more opposite, they connected at a New Year’s Eve party in the Season 2 premiere and quickly became a fan-favorite pairing. The shippers went crazy after the pair shared an intimate conversation in Episode 6, and the finale featured flashback scenes of their hours spent talking on the phone together.

Unfortunately, tragedy struck, both on the show and off, before things could advance between the two. In the Season 2 finale, Fez was ready to show up at Lexi’s play with flowers and a note in hand. However, he wound up getting shot in the stomach during a police raid that followed the death of Custer (Tyler Chase), a local drug dealer who was killed by Fez’s brother Ashtray (Javon Walton). The police shootout led to Ashtray’s death and left Fez bleeding on the floor.

In real life, Cloud died from an accidental drug overdose in July 2023.
