14 Days of Swooon
Morris Chestnut Reacts to Being Our Hall of Fame of Hot King (VIDEO)
Happy Morris Monday to all those who celebrate!
In honor of 14 Days of Swooon, we’re celebrating the prolific (and very handsome) actor who inspired our Hall of Fame of Hot series: the one and only Morris Chestnut. When Chestnut stopped by Swooon while discussing Watson for TV Insider’s new digital cover story, we had to get his reaction to being our Hall of Fame of Hot King!
“I will say thank you for whoever the judges or the voters were and who nominated me and accepted me into that category,” he said. “Listen, it’s one of those things to where I don’t focus on it as a person, but it’s always nice to have something like that.”

Chestnut has been a Hollywood heartthrob for decades. He rose to fame in movies like Boyz n the Hood and The Best Man. “It’s given me the opportunity to continue working, but I don’t focus on it because I’ve always felt if I start focusing on that instead of my crafting the job of what I actually do and get paid for, I wouldn’t be around as long as I would. So I really just focus on what I do,” he replied when asked about his everlasting hunk status.
The Watson actor appreciates all the support he’s received from fans through the years. “Without them, I wouldn’t be here,” he stressed.
Chestnut has always exuded a natural confidence, whether it’s onscreen or off. “I’ve never really compared myself to anybody else. I think my greatest challenge has always been within myself. I’ve always focused on what I’m doing, standing in my own lane,” he said.
The 56-year-old has been making us all swoon for decades, but what makes Mr. Chestnut swoon? “I swoon sweets and my wife,” he gushed. He’s been happily married to Pam Byse since 1995. His idea of a perfect date night includes a “dinner, having a great dessert at the end of it, and then just spend the time at home with my wife afterwards.” He coyly added, “And we don’t have to talk about what that is.”
