Does Saquon Barkley Have a Wife? Inside His Relationship With Anna Congdon
Saquon Barkley is headed to the Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles, and he has some incredible loved ones supporting him. The NFL star’s longtime love, Anna Congdon, and their children are his ultimate cheerleaders.
While Congdon and Barkley are not married (yet!), they’ve been in a relationship for years and are building a life together. Scroll down for everything we know about Congdon and her relationship with the running back.
How did Saquon Barkley and Anna Congdon meet?
Barkley and Congdon met while they were both attending Penn State University. She started school in September 2016, at which point Barkley was already in his sophomore year and a star on the football team.
In December 2016, the two attended a formal together, which Congdon documented on Instagram with the caption, “He’s alright on the field but you should see him on the dance floor.” It’s unclear exactly how these two crossed paths, but it didn’t take long after Congdon arrived in State College.

The lovebirds made their relationship official in 2017, according to People.
Barkley left PSU before his senior year to enter the NFL draft. However, he completed his degree in 2022 … with some inspiration from Congdon. “My parents pushed me to accomplish it, Anna pushed me to accomplish it,” he shared. “And I was happy to get it done.”

Barkley and Congdon got engaged in 2024, although they were able to keep the news a secret for months. It wasn’t until February 2025, just days before the Super Bowl, that he confirmed that Congdon was his fiancée.
“I can’t be the athlete I am and have the success I have so in my career without the help of her,” the professional athlete told People. “She’s been super helpful and always has my back, not only in football, but throughout life. There’s a lot that goes on. But as we continue to grow and mature and go through life together, we continue getting closer and continue to get even better.”
In a subsequent press conference, he confirmed the timeline of the engagement, explaining, “This is not new, by the way. I know it just broke the other day, but I’ve been engaged for, like, six months.”
He also admitted that he was more nervous proposing than he is playing football. “I’m just not good with stuff like that,” Barkley told reporters. “I’m a lover boy, but I’m not, like, a clever lover boy.”

Before Barkley popped the question, he had already welcomed two kids with his bride-to-be. Their daughter, Jada, was born in 2018 after the two were dating for just over a year.
“I’m just honored and blessed that I have a daughter in Jada and be able to enter fatherhood and always gotta try to set the standard for her because her image of a man is gonna be off of me,” Barkley said shortly after his then-girlfriend gave birth.

The family grew in 2022 when Congdon gave birth to baby No. 2, a little boy named Saquon Jr. “He lights up the room. Amazing smile. Jada is being an amazing big sister. Anna, obviously an amazing mom. We’ve got a beautiful little family,” Barkley gushed.
Ahead of the 2025 Super Bowl, Barkley gave an update on his kids, telling People, “Now we got a 6-year-old who’s about to be seven, who knows it all already, and then our son who’s all into toys and trucks and cars and he’s just a boy. He likes fighting, he likes playing football. So we cherish all those moments.”
Anna Congdon’s athletic history
While she may not be a professional athlete like her future husband, Congdon is a sports star herself. She was the team captain for her high school basketball team at Forest City Regional High School in Pennsylvanila.
Under Congdon’s leadership, the team was named 2015-2016 District II champions. “Team captain Anna Congdon lifts the championships plaque in front of the huge Forest City crowd at Mohegan Sun Arena!” a photo of the former athlete was captioned on Facebook.

Although Congdon is not super active on Instagram, she has more than 130,000 followers. She only documents very big moments on her page, including the Eagles’ NFC Championship win, which she helped Barkley celebrate on the field with their kids. “If I could wrap my arms around this memory, I would…” she captioned a post from the game.
Before that, Congdon’s last post was from when the family attended the NFL Honors in 2024. They all got dressed up for the occasion to support Barkley at the event.
