Are Christina Haack & Tarek El Moussa Still in Love? ‘Flip Off’ Fans Have Mixed Feelings
It’s been nearly 10 years since Christina Haack and Tarek El Moussa separated, but they’re still in each other’s orbits in a big way. Aside from just co-parenting their two children, the exes are also colleagues who are currently working on the show The Flip Off.
After seeing the show’s January 29 premiere, fans had a lot to say about the pair’s interactions. One particular scene featured Haack opening up to El Moussa about her split from third husband Josh Hall, which quickly got emotional. The former Flip or Flop stars reflected on their own past relationship and offered apologies to each other, leading to some online speculation about where they currently stand.
“The sexual tension between Tarek and Christina is.. very very hard to deny,” one person wrote on Reddit, adding, “When Christina is crying over her split with Josh.. Tarek gets emotional too in their heavy convo, he’s rubbing her leg a little. There is LOVE there.. I just can’t put my finger on if it’s platonic.”
The message sparked a big debate in the forum. Plenty of users agreed with the original commenter. One wrote, “My husband & I watch all their shows. We both comment that they flirt with each other more now than when they were married!” Someone else added, “I feel the same way! The scene where Christina breaks her news to Tarek felt so intimate. And Tarek picked a second wife who closely resembles Christina.”
However, others insisted that the relationship has more of a “sibling” dynamic, and that any chemistry is just due to how long they’ve known each other. “I didn’t get that take at all. He teases Christina like he does his sister and mom. Of course, they have history and kids together,” someone pointed out, while another user wrote, “I saw compassion and trust. That’s all. They have both moved on but are bonded by kids and some intense history.”
El Moussa and Haack married in 2009 and separated in 2016. Their divorce was finalized in 2018. She went on to marry and divorce Ant Anstead, whom she had another child with, then tied the knot with Hall in 2021. However, Hall filed for divorce in July 2024.
Meanwhile, El Moussa married Heather Rae Young in 2019 and they welcomed a son together in January 2023. The couple is working together against Haack in a house-flipping competition on The Flip Off. While Haack was initially partnered with Hall in the competition, they split while filming the very first episode.
