Will Carolina Quixano Be the ‘Bachelor’ Villain This Season? Get to Know the Standout

Grant Ellis’ Bachelor journey is officially underway. A total of 25 women entered the Bachelor mansion during the January 27 premiere, and the fabulous Carolina Sofía Quixano caught Ellis’ eye when she exited the limo speaking Spanish, showing off her Puerto Rican roots.
As Season 29 of The Bachelor continued, Carolina proved to be a prominent figure in the cast continued, and her previous reality TV experience makes her even more of a standout. Here’s everything there is to know about Carolina so far.
Who is Carolina Sofía from The Bachelor Season 29?
The 29-year-old walked confidently out of her limo during her Bachelor Nation debut. Carolina is originally from Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, but moved to the states when she was a teenager to fulfill new opportunities. The young contestant brings a lot to the table. According to her ABC bio, Carolina is trilingual. Along with Spanish and English, she can also speak French. Two of her fun facts include her pet peeve being “menus with no photos” and dreaming “of being roasted by Nikki Glaser.”
In her opening package, Carolina mentioned how her friends and family would describe her as “someone who is very authentic, silly, lighthearted, could make a joke out of anything.” The vibrant personality explained how her ex-boyfriend was a DJ and went on to say how she needs to make wiser decisions when it comes to men.
“I feel like I’m gonna hit it off with Grant,” she said. “He’s potentially the love of my life, my future husband, so I’m ready.”
What does Carolina do for a living?
Carolina is a public relations producer located in Los Angeles, according to her Instagram bio.
Carolina has epilepsy
Carolina had a one-on-one date with Grant during Episode 3 and got emotional while opening up about her epilepsy diagnosis. “I have a disability that people can’t see,” Carolina shared. “When I was, like, 13, I started getting tremors. My parents took me to every doctor and we couldn’t figure out what it was. One morning, we were going to school, and I had a seizure, and I was mortified. It’s not something that I want people to, like, judge me for. Thankfully I have controlled it with medication but it is something that I have to really take care of. Friends have let me down and romantic partners have let me down.”
She received her diagnosis when she was 17 years old. “It’s not something that’s going to go away anytime soon, ever. So whoever wants to be part of my life needs to accept that and work with me on that,” Carolina explained in a confessional.
Carolina and Grant were both in tears by the end of the conversation as he told her, “I’m starting to feel feelings for you and that’s not something that’s going to stand in the way at all. If we do get married, no matter what you need, I’m always going to put you first.”
Will Carolina become the villain of this season?
The fun contestant has proven to be the life of the party so far. In her ABC bio she is described as “a bold beauty who isn’t afraid to go after what she wants or speak her mind.”
However, early promos hinted that she could get the “villain” edit this season. In one of the Bachelor promos, she says, “I guess I’m crazy and evil” while strutting up the stairs. This big personality is sure to cause some drama in the mansion, as she is not afraid to confront other girls or the Bachelor himself.
In fact, Carolina did just that in Episode 3 after she had an off-camera conversation with Rose Sombke. The women discussed the previous group date, during which Carolina had an intimate moment where she straddled Grant while dancing with him. However, Rose told Carolina that Grant said he was thinking about her during the dance, which led Carolina to bring it up with Grant. He insisted he never said that and approached Rose to question why she would say that. Rose got emotional and admitted she may have misinterpreted what Grant said to her.
(For reference, his exact quote was: “I just want to make sure that you know that because I’m very interested in you. Like even today, right? The whole dancing thing onstage and everything, I was thinking about you. I don’t want you to feel like I’m not paying attention, because I am.”)
While the internet seemed to be on Carolina’s side after the controversy, the tension between the women will seemingly continue into Episode 4. After all, the “crazy and evil” line hasn’t even aired yet, so there will likely be some more drama involving Carolina to come.
What other reality show was Carolina on?
The Bachelor isn’t Carolina’s first time on a reality show. In 2024, Carolina was on the game show We Are Family, where the contestants try to guess the celebrity relatives of performers. Even though the two shows are very different, one being about finding love and the other a game show, Carolina is used to being on television and making herself known.
