Is Wells Adams Returning to ‘Bachelor in Paradise’? He Gives Update on Season 10

Bachelor in Paradise is returning for Season 10 but very little information about what to expect has been confirmed. After serving as a bartender on the show for six seasons, Wells Adams has become a fan-favorite part of the show. So, will he be back on the beach this summer?
Adams gave an update while appearing on Ben Higgins and Ashley Iaconetti‘s Almost Famous podcast. He pointed out that there’s a new showrunner for BIP, which could shake things up.
“In layman’s terms, [that’s] like a new boss. It’ll be interesting to see what they decide to do with the show going forward,” Adams said. “I love doing that show. … So I think it would be a huge bummer if I wasn’t part of it. But, obviously, who knows what’s going to happen.”
Despite his future with the franchise being unclear, Adams is hopeful that there aren’t too many changes made now that someone new is in charge. “Paradise is such fun TV and sometimes I watch what’s on TV and I’m like, ‘I need more fun. I need more happiness. I need more silliness,'” he shared. “I think that show does a good job of [that]. My thing is I hope it comes back purely for that, whether I’m a part of it or not.”

Adams first appeared on Paradise during Season 3 in 2016. Although he didn’t end up with anyone on the show, he returned the following summer with the bartender gig, which he continued through Season 9 in 2023. BIP took a hiatus in 2024 amid programming changes (ABC added The Golden Bachelor and The Golden Bachelorette to its lineup).
When Higgins and Iaconetti pointed out that BIP wouldn’t be the same without Adams, he agreed. “You know when they did the season of The Bachelor that wasn’t at the mansion? I felt that was so weird and I hated it. I’m like, ‘You gotta go back there. That’s such a main character. That’s such an important thing.’ So I think for Paradise, it would be weird because I’ve just been there for so long,” he admitted. “I know the pitfalls, I’ve seen so many people find love, been a part of those relationships, married some of them personally. So I agree with you. I think it would be weird if I wasn’t part of it.”
Former Bachelor Nation showrunner Mike Fleiss left the franchise in 2023 after misconduct allegations. He was replaced by Claire Freeland, Jason Ehrlich, and Bennett Graebner, who executive produced Season 9 of BIP with Nicole Woods, Tim Warner, and Louis Caric. Now, Scott Teti will be leading the charge for Season 10.
Little is known about what to expect from Season 10, but host Jesse Palmer recently told Swooon that discussions will be happening soon. “I am supposed to be talking with some people about it pretty soon, but I’m so excited,” he shared. “I am expecting some changes. I don’t know what those changes are going to necessarily be. I certainly have my own hopes what it might be, but I’m just really excited to get back to the beach personally, and to see our lovely cast, and to hopefully see some people fall in love and get engaged and to be back with Wells.” Hopefully he does actually get to reunite with Adams!
