‘Suits’ Star Gabriel Macht Reveals Shocking Family News After Stepping Back From Acting
Gabriel Macht has put acting on the back burner after the end of Suits in 2019, and he’s really taken a step back from the spotlight. Although he’s reprising his role with a guest spot in the upcoming Suits LA, Macht is adamant about keeping some things private.
The actor, who shares two children with wife Jacinda Barrett, gave a brief update about his family in a new interview and explained why he’s keeping his kids out of the public eye.
“I don’t tell anybody where I live because I like to keep that under wraps,” he told PEOPLE. “I got out of town and we’re exploring the world.”

Macht explained that he and Barrett decided to take their kids out of school and start homeschooling them “right before COVID.” The pandemic kept them rooted in Manhattan, which he said “just wasn’t doing it for us.” That’s when they decided to “explore the world” and leave the city.
It’s unclear where the family set down roots now. However, Macht pointed out, “I grew up in L.A. and I lived in New York for many, many years. Half of my life on the East Coast, half of my life on the West Coast.” He also starred on Suits, which filmed in Toronto, from 2011 to 2019.
Although he wasn’t planning on returning to acting, Macht agreed on returning as Harvey Specter in a three-episode arc on Suits LA. “I had very little interest in coming back to work as an actor right now, because I spent so much time [doing it] and this was my time to really raise my kids and to do this creative stuff,” he admitted. Still, he said it made “sense” for him to come back at this time, adding, “[I’ll] sort of pass the baton to Stephen [Amell] and the cast in L.A.”
