‘Single’s Inferno’: Everything We Know About Season 4 of Netflix Dating Series
Single’s Inferno is returning for its fourth and hottest season yet.
Ranking in Netflix’s Top 10 in 29 countries after its Season 3 premiere last winter and now the first Netflix Korea unscripted series to be renewed for a fourth season, the Korean reality program is bringing the next batch of singles to Inferno island, where they must muster eight days of new friendships, potential lovers, and emotional breakthroughs.
Touted for its more coy approach to reality TV, the contestants delicately juggle pursuing the people that pique their interest. More often than not, friends are often in contention with one another, vying for the same guy or girl unbeknownst to each other due to their anonymous bidding system. The result? An emotionally and physically tense show, cultivating the highs of a more real-feeling courtship process.
The show is spurred on by the panel of hosts who accompany the program each season, various Korean actors and personalities who watch the show with you in real-time and add their own incredibly entertaining feedback. Keep reading to learn everything we know about the upcoming season.
How does this Single’s Inferno work?
The concept is simple: A group of single women and men meet and live on a “deserted” island, known as Inferno. Over the course of eight days, the contestants cook meals together, play competitive group games, and ultimately get to know one another on a more casual basis.
The goal of the show is to get off Inferno and make it to Paradise, finding your perfect match by the end of the eight days. The only way to go to Paradise is if a couple successfully bids for each other, making them a match. At Paradise awaits five-star hotel rooms, endless room service, hot tubs, massages, you name it. There, the couples get to know each other on a more personal level.
Each season has only a handful of opportunities to go to Paradise, so who contestants choose to try to match with must be done strategically, weighing the question: Are you going to take a chance and try to match with the person who might not be interested in you, or are you just trying to go to Paradise?
Oh, and one more thing. The contestants cannot reveal their ages or professions to one another until they are in Paradise. And what’s said in Paradise must stay there.
Who is in the cast of Single’s Inferno Season 4?
Single’s Inferno often chooses an array of eligible Korean bachelors and bachelorettes, with professions ranging from professional basketball players to stockbrokers to café owners to full-time Harvard students.
While the show has not announced which singles will be inhabiting the deserted island, the streamer has released the first trailer for Season 4, highlighting the physical intimacy and drama of the show reaching a new level compared to previous seasons. Similar to previous trailers, the clip below focuses on the contestants’ bodies instead of their faces, leaving their identities a mystery.
How many couples have successfully left the island so far?
Last season, four couples successfully left the island together: Gwan-hee and Hey-seon; Choi Min-woo and Yu Si-eun; Lee Jin-seok and An Min Young; and Park Min-kyu and Kim Gyu-ri.
Who is hosting this Single’s Inferno Season 4?
The five moderators are the same as the previous season: comedian Hong Jin-kyung, actress Lee Da-hae, Korean boy band member Kyuhyun, rapper Hanhae, and former fan-favorite Season 2 contestant Kim Jin-young.
Where is Single’s Inferno filmed?
Single’s Inferno has been filmed in several locations across South Korea. Seasons 1 and 2 were located near Incheon, a port city about an hour away from the country’s capital, Seoul. Season 3 switched it up and relocated Paradise to a new luxury hotel on Jeju Island, a popular tourist destination known for its lava caves and the volcano Hallasan.
