Will There Be a ‘Maxton Hall’ Season 3? All the Latest Updates About Ruby & James’ Future
Maxton Hall — The World Between Us took the world by storm in 2024. Millions of viewers fell in love with Ruby Bell (Harriet Herbit-Matten) and James Beaufort’s (Damian Hardung) romance that unfolded as they attended the fictional Maxton Hall. The German-language series became the most-watched International Original Series ever on Prime Video.
The show has already been renewed for Season 2, and we’re already thinking about a potential Season 3. The series is based on Mona Kasten’s book trilogy. As we await Season 2 news, Swooon is looking ahead to Season 3.
Is there going to be a Maxton Hall Season 3?
Prime Video has not renewed Maxton Hall for Season 3 yet. The second season hasn’t even been released yet. Given the success of the show’s debut season, we would not be surprised if Maxton Hall clinched a Season 3.

A third season has already been teased by Christoph Schneider, Country Director at Prime Video Germany and Austria. “We had a great IP, it was brilliantly made, we had a great — and not just the two main actors, who are outstanding, but also the others,” he told Deadline. “Everyone was really great, and that made this a unicorn show. The good news is we have three seasons.”
A spokesperson for Prime Video wouldn’t confirm a renewal after Schneider’s comments, but the rep did confirm the streamer has options on all three of Kasten’s books: Save Me, Save You, and Save Us.
Is there a third book?
Yes, there is a third book in the Maxton Hall series: Save Us. The book was released in 2018 but hasn’t been adapted into English yet. The first two books in the trilogy, Save Me and Save You, are getting re-releases in 2025.
What happens in Save Us?
Save Us is called “the grand finale” of James and Ruby’s love story. After overcoming countless obstacles, James and Ruby are seemingly in the clear when it comes to relationship challenges. However, James’ obligations to his family threaten his future with Ruby.
When is Season 2 coming out?
Prime Video hasn’t revealed the exact premiere date of Maxton Hall Season 2, but it will be released in 2025. Production wrapped in September 2024.
It’s not going to be an easy road for James. “In the second book, it’s really dark for James,” Hardung told Swooon and TV Insider. “We’ve talked about his mom dying, and he’s really going through those dark places.”
