The Love Hypothesis is about a PhD student, Olive, who enters into a fake dating situationship with Adam Carlson, a professor at Stanford. Olive needs to convince her ex that she’s over him, and Adam wants the faculty to believe that he’s staying at the university. As with all fake dating scenarios, the more time these two spend together, the deeper the connection becomes, and the harder it is for Olive to tell what’s for show and what’s genuine love brewing between them.

According to IMDb, the movie is still in development. A director has not been attached to the project yet, which means it can’t move into casting and pre-production.
