Calahan Skogman has seen your Emily Henry fancasts. The Shadow and Bone alum is well aware of the hype surrounding the upcoming adaptations of Henry’s best-selling contemporary romances. He spoke with Swooon about the possibility of making those fancasts come true and becoming one of her leads.

“First of all, I love Emily,” he said. “She’s such a sweetheart and so, so talented. She joined me on my book tour actually in Chicago, which was such a gracious thing for her to do. But her work is incredible, and we’re on the same page. I would kill to be in one of her films. I would kill to be in one of her films. It would be a great honor to be one of her romantic leads.”

He added, “Literally, I’ll do it for free.” The actor also noted that it would be a “dream come true” to be in a rom-com or romance project in general.

The Blue Graffiti author revealed that he was drawn to Alex Nilsen in Henry’s People We Meet on Vacation, which will star Tom Blyth and Emily Bader. “Fun fact: I did audition for it. Not for Alex, though,” he revealed. “I think that movie’s going to be great. That’s not the one that I’m going to be a part of, but hopefully one in the future. Happy Place is great.”

Swooon brought up that Skogman would make a great Wyn Connor, one of the main characters of Henry’s Happy Place, which is being adapted into a series by Netflix.

“Yeah, I’ve heard that before,” Skogman said with a smile. “I would do that as well. I would love to do that.”

While nothing has been confirmed yet, we’re rooting for Skogman. He’s hopeful about his future in the Emily Henry Cinematic Universe. “I think it will happen,” he said.
