‘When Calls the Heart’: New Romantic Photos of Elizabeth & Nathan Revealed Ahead of Season 12
Elizabeth (Erin Krakow) and Nathan’s (Kevin McGarry) romance is entering a new era in When Calls the Heart Season 12. Ahead of the show’s return at the top of 2025, Krakow is giving fans a sneak peek at the lovey-dovey goodness from the set. Excuse us, we’re swooning!
The show’s makeup artist, Sarah Buffitt, captured the ultimate dreamy moment between Elizabeth and Nathan as the sun set behind them. While in character, Krakow and McGarry walked around in the field together, with the light illuminating their sweet exchange.

Krakow captioned the photos, “See you in a month, #Hearties!” The actress and the rest of the When Calls the Heart crew wrapped filming in November.
After seasons of slow burn, Elizabeth and Nathan finally kissed in Season 11. They acknowledged the feelings between them and looked ahead to their future together. Krakow spoke with Swooon about what’s next for the beloved couple.
“Well, we spend a lot more time together this season, and I think you get to see some real romantic moments between us, as well as some really heartfelt co-parenting in this blended family. Those scenes are some of my favorites. They’re really special this season,” she teased.
The Hallmark favorite also revealed that Elizabeth experiences a variety of emotions in the upcoming season, including “high highs, low lows, some real frisky fun, some comedy, and some serious drama. That’s just scratching the surface. It’s going to be a huge season.”
A brief teaser revealed Little House on the Prairie alum Melissa Gilbert‘s character, Georgie McGill, who has a history with Bill Avery (Jack Wagner).
