Remember when rumors were swirling that Joey Graziadei was actually engaged to Daisy Kent? So does Kelsey Anderson.

Graziadei’s fiancée opened up about how she felt about the online chatter that The Bachelor Season 28 lead was engaged to someone else as the show was airing. At the time, Anderson couldn’t say anything publicly because that would actually spoil the ending.

“Towards the end of the show when the spoiler came out that it was somebody else Joey was engaged to — my good friend, Daisy — I think that was hard because people were assuming things,” Anderson said on The Squeeze podcast.

As is the case with many Bachelor Nation series over the years, the “spoiler” that leaked was wrong. Graziadei popped the question to Anderson — not Kent — on the beach in Tulum.

Anderson admitted that she “wanted to respect” Kent after the wrapped filming and didn’t reach out to her initially because it was a “weird situation” all around. However, she wanted to text her friend immediately. A couple of months later, Anderson and Kent reconnected, and Kent admitted she had wanted to reach out to her as well.

“At the beginning, it was a little hard because I was like, ‘Oh my gosh. Is he sure he wants me? What if he has second thoughts?’ After a certain point of Joey reassuring me and telling me like, ‘I want this to work. It was going to be you. I was always going to be you,’ in a sense, I feel like Joey and I had built a lot.”

After some initial tough times dealing with a relationship in the spotlight, Anderson has started to let go of any negative thoughts and opinions. “But I’m glad that, honestly, it was harder at the beginning and now I’m like whatever. In my mind, people that are over critiquing me and being hateful in that way, you need more hobbies. I don’t think that people that are really happy care about other people.”

Since The Bachelor Season 28, the happy couple has moved from New Orleans to Los Angeles. Graziadei competed and won Dancing with the Stars Season 33, and the couple has decided to stick around the City of Angels for the time being.
