How ‘Golden Bachelorette’ Couple Joan Vassos & Chock Chapple Feel About a TV Wedding
The Golden Bachelorette has come to a close, and Joan Vassos got her happy ending. The 61-year-old got engaged to Chock Chapple on the beach in Bora Bora. From their magical date in Disneyland to meeting his friends and family in Kansas, it was clear from the get-go that Vassos was smitten with the insurance executive.
The happy couple had to keep their love under wraps for quite some time, with no one knowing the outcome of The Golden Bachelorette besides their children, parents, and Joan’s mother-in-law. Therefore, Chock took it upon himself to celebrate their relationship by throwing an engagement party. He revealed to Swooon that it happened on November 13, the same day the After The Final Rose special aired.
Getting both parties’ friends and families together made Joan realize something about her future wedding. When asked whether or not their eventual nuptials would be televised like Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist, Joan said that Chock has left the decision to her.
In her interview with Swooon, Joan disclosed that she originally “wasn’t really big on that [TV wedding].” She explained, “I wanted it to be intimate, about our love, and about sharing it with just our family and friends, who we haven’t been able to share it with.”
But after their party, her decision started to shift. “Now I see the joy of maybe it being a little bit bigger and inviting Bachelor Nation in a little more than I thought,” she said. Joan admitted that it doesn’t feel right “to cut them off right at the end and say, you know, we’re going to be private now,” adding that it “wouldn’t be really very nice.”
“I love that, that there’s a message of hope,” Joan continued. The reason why she’d like to share their wedding with the world would be to signify that “great things can happen” at any age. “So I think maybe it’d be the right thing to do to show that,” she told Swooon.
The question of whether the fans will see a Golden Bachelorette wedding still remains, but it’s beginning to look a lot more likely. Would you want to watch another celebration of love special? Let us know in the comments down below!
