‘The Golden Bachelorette’: Joan Reveals Her ‘Biggest Recommendation’ for Season 2
Joan Vassos has presumably already chosen her sunset years soulmate, though whether Chock Chapple or Guy Gansert has filled that spot is still unclear to the viewers watching at home. After filming the Men Tell All special, Joan reflected on the entire Golden Bachelorette experience with Swooon and other outlets.
Having gone through the experience of staying in the Bachelor mansion herself when she was a contestant on The Golden Bachelor, Joan revealed one thing she’d like the show to change in future seasons.
“This sounds really petty. I think it’s really hard to sleep in the house at night,” she admitted. “[With] bunk beds and having so many of you crowded in the room, and I think maybe we’d all be a little better if we got a little more sleep.”
She compared her suitors’ accommodation to “a big campground there or their big fraternity house or something.” However, the 61-year-old loved watching her contestants outside of her dates with them. “I know my dates and what I’ve done with them, but it is so fun to watch their interaction in the mansion. And I think it’s funny how they view each other,” Joan gushed.
While she eagerly explained that she enjoyed seeing the men help each other with cooking and doing laundry, she had some thoughts about the close living quarters. “So possibly the sleeping arrangements could be better is probably my biggest recommendation,” Joan said. The reason for that? “You want everybody feeling good in the morning when they wake up. And you know, this is a long journey, and it’s a lot very emotional, and getting some of sleep is really important.”
However, there were some changes that were already made between The Golden Bachelor and its spinoff, one of them being a longer run time. This overjoyed Joan, who said, “I love that they made it a longer show because you really got to meet the guys and form opinions about them. You got to hear their stories a lot more that you got to do with us women on The Golden Bachelor series.”
Joan’s journey as the first-ever Golden Bachelorette is coming to an end. Will she get her sunset years happy ending?
