Joan Vassos has a tough choice ahead of her on The Golden BacheloretteWith just a few weeks left on the latest installment of the franchise, she has to decide between her last remaining men: Chock Chapple, Guy Gansert, and Pascal Ibgui.

At times, she has even compared them to her late husband, John. Joan’s making it clear that all three men have different qualities that she wants in a man. Guy has quickly become a frontrunner for Joan’s heart. Scroll down for the latest news on Guy as the finale nears.

What does Guy do for a living?

Guy is an ER doctor. Helping people every day in his regular life, he even brought that mentality with him to the Bachelor Mansion. He helped fellow suitor Charles Ling come to terms with his wife’s death.

Charles’ wife died from a brain aneurysm but had blood coming out of her mouth just before she died. This caused a lot of turmoil for Charles, who thought he might have done something wrong. So, when Guy used his career expertise to explain that she probably just bit her tongue in the process, a weight was finally lifted from Charles’ chest.

Has Guy been married before?

Yes, the 66-year-old has opened up to Joan about his divorce and the difficult time that followed afterward.

Guy was married to Heidi Seevers Gansert. The couple’s union lasted for 34 years before they ultimately decided to go their separate ways. Heidi has been a member of the Nevada Senate since 2016, though she chose not to be on the ballot for the 2024 election. She is a member of the Republican party.

Does Guy have kids?

Guy and his ex-wife share four kids. Two sons, Hank and Glenn, and two daughters, Kirsten and Mackenzie. Three of his kids met Joan during Guy’s hometown date on the show. Kirsten was the only one not present because she currently lives in London. Guy is also close to his four siblings, who were also there to meet Joan.

Is there a restraining order against Guy?

Guy and his ex-wife divorced in 2021, and that’s when she requested a temporary restraining order. She dismissed it before it was granted. In the original document, she had asked Guy to only contact her about their kids through email.

In the filing, she claimed that Guy “physically tried to threaten” her and that he sent her text messages “trying to reconcile” before “flipping to anger,” according to PEOPLE. She claimed that the day she filed the order, Guy allegedly placed an item under her tire and “motioned like he was going to shoot me with his hand shaped like a pistol” after running into her at the gym. Both parties then tried to seal the document, yet that didn’t happen.

After this past restraining order surfaced, Guy took to Instagram to explain his side of the story. Taking accountability, he shared that his divorce was “extremely difficult” for him to come to terms with and led him to a “very low point in my life.”

Joan then commented on the situation while appearing on The Viall Files. She said, “We’ve lived a lot of life, and it doesn’t completely surprise me that there are things that they’re maybe not proud of later on.” The 61-year-old lead further explained, “My interactions with all the guys were pure and lovely, and I would have never had any indication that there was any kind of past that he had. I had no idea what the interactions with his ex-wife were at that time. He was so kind to me, and he was so open, and he was so vulnerable.
