‘Love Is Blind’: Marissa Reveals Gut-Wrenching Ramses Breakup Moment You Didn’t See on the Show
Love Is Blind Season 7 was plagued with breakups, scandals, and a whole bunch of confusion. It was exactly that confusion that overwhelmed Marissa George when her breakup with partner Ramses Prashad went down in Episode 12. From thinking they were going to be together forever to a sudden conversation that led to her sobbing in her ex-partner’s arms when the realization hit that they were not moving forward together, Marissa went through it.
A year has passed since that moment, and Marissa is finally speaking out about what really happened. She explained to Glamour how her split with Ramses was different from the other splits of the season: “None of us saw this breakup coming. It wasn’t like me and him were having big fights. The military conversations and the sex and all that, those were discussions you just need to keep having as a couple. And I didn’t think they were game-changers at the time.”
The law student opened up that she was shocked because Ramses had been telling her, “Love of my life. Soul mate. Gonna marry you.” She admitted that she has a tendency to “take people at face value,” so she was blindsided by the split. She then revealed something Love Is Blind didn’t include from their breakup scene.
Love Is Blind didn’t show that Marissa offered not to get married. She said, “We can stay engaged, or we can do everything on our own timeline. We don’t have to move in immediately. That was never the plan anyway. We don’t have to be engaged to date.” Yet, for Ramses, the situation was clear, “It was a hard no.”
Feeling like his change of heart came out of the blue, the breakup “turned me upside down,” Marissa revealed. In the interview, she emphasized that Ramses “said no, absolutely not” to dating outside of the show.
What’s worse is that Marissa still doesn’t know what led Ramses to that decision. “He couldn’t really give me a reason,” she said. “To this day, I don’t know if he really has a good reason.” She brought up that he tried to “pinpoint certain things, like that I listened to podcasts in the morning and I sing in the shower type of stuff… But at the time of the breakup, he was just like, ‘I don’t feel at peace anymore, and I feel like our energies [are] off, and I’m gonna hurt you in five years, but I love you and want to be with you, but this is moving too fast.'”
