‘Love Is Blind’: Hannah Reveals the Exact Moment She Knew She Wasn’t Going to Marry Nick
As Hannah Jiles started her adventure on Love Is Blind, she had a dilemma. Who was she going to choose? Art dealer Leo Braudy or former football player Nick Dorka? After some intense doubts, she chose Nick. The two gave it a shot, but they broke up before they walked down the aisle.
In her interview with Swooon, Hannah explained when she realized that Nick wasn’t “the one” for her. Hannah knew she couldn’t marry him just before she was supposed to go wedding dress shopping. “When I woke up that morning, it didn’t feel right,” Hannah said. “I just had a feeling. I think that moment was the ‘I can’t do this moment.’ There wasn’t a specific moment that happened. I just woke up. I had the feeling. And then that’s when I was like, ‘Okay, we need to have a talk because we should not be getting married.'”
Missing out on trying on perfect white gowns, she chuckled, “Of course, I want to try on wedding dresses. It’s like a dream to put on a wedding dress.” Hannah wasn’t the only one who wanted to see that dream become a reality. Her mom had even written a speech. “I definitely wanted to, but I knew I shouldn’t, and so I didn’t,” she told Swooon.
Upon recognizing that they were “inherently different human beings,” Hannah didn’t feel it was right to continue on the charade. She said she loved Nick but had “gut feelings” she couldn’t ignore.
An example of what amplified her doubts was the infamous duck incident in Cabo. Nick hopped onto a toy duck and wanted to race it. A random woman who was not affiliated with Love Is Blind participated instead of Hannah and called her “jealous.” This didn’t sit right with Hannah.
The 27-year-old wanted to clarify that she didn’t necessarily think that was a major problem. She just wanted him to care a little more. Another scene she mentioned was when Nick confessed to being unsure how to boil water. All those small things made her realize, “We’re just not on the same page.”
