In the wake of The Golden Bachelorette fans mourning the departure of Mark Anderson, the contestant is now speaking out about his adventure on the show. “I am thankful… I am hopeful… I feel blessed,” he began his Instagram post.

After getting his first one-on-one date with lead Joan Vassos in the October 16 episode, it was clear that the two weren’t compatible. Joan brought up that she needed someone who was as far in their “healing journey” as she was, implying that Mark wasn’t there yet. This saddened the army veteran, but he took it with stride and said his goodbyes to the other guys still there.

When he was leaving, it was obvious what a beloved friend Mark had become in the Bachelor mansion. A tearful Pascal Ibgui even brought up that he was going to miss his “best friend” during one of his confessionals. These friendships have had a lasting effect on Mark, who said in his post, “I met this incredible group of men that have enriched the core of my being.”

But he also had loving words for Joan. He wrote, “I am blessed to have met Joan, a radiant, and caring woman who stood tall and navigated this with poise and grace.” Kelsey wrote in the comments, “Love you so much.”

Mark, who opened up about his late wife’s unique ability to feed birds out of the palm of her hands, left feeling hopeful because he had seen a hummingbird. Whenever he sees a hummingbird, he feels the presence of his late wife. This also happened to daughter Kelsey Anderson during her stint on The Bachelor. While on her hometown date with Joey Graziadei, she revealed that she had spotted a butterfly, which she called a sign from her mom.

Now, fans of the show want Kelsey’s “hot dad” to return as the Golden Bachelor. After witnessing his sweet and gentle ways, this would be a great next step for Mark in his journey to find love again. He even said in his message, “Thank you for the encouragement and support that has been shared throughout this journey it has truly changed my life for the better!” Let’s keep the support for Mark as the next Golden Bachelor going!
