‘Outer Banks’ Cast Breaks Down What Lies Ahead for Your Beloved Pogue Couples in Season 4 (VIDEO)

New season, new adventure for the Pogues of Outer Banks. The Pogues are all living together on Kildare Island when the sun-soaked Netflix drama returns for Season 4 Part 1.

John B (Chase Stokes) and Sarah (Madelyn Cline), JJ (Rudy Pankow) and Kiara (Madison Bailey), and Pope (Jonathan Daviss) and Cleo (Carlacia Grant) are all coupled up when Season 4 returns, but will they stay that way? Grant revealed that Pope and Cleo will be tested in “one of the biggest ways possible. I think we have to handle being adults now, no longer under Hayward’s roof, now living with our best friends, and trying to figure out who we are as individuals and who we are in this relationship.”

She added, “There are moments of tragedy, and there are moments of triumph, and what does that mean for us as a couple?” Daviss brought up Pope and Cleo’s “wholesome” relationship. “They match each other’s energies very well. Pope is super reserved and to himself. Cleo is very bombastic and confident and very sure of herself,” he said.

The Pogue pairs will get wrapped up in a new adventure in Season 4, one that Grant calls “more dangerous” than anything the crew has faced before. “It takes us to a much further place than it did the last couple seasons. We’re in a completely new environment,” Daviss teased.

When Season 4 picks up, John B and Sarah are still going strong in the wake of losing both their fathers. “I think in Part 1 what we really wanted to emphasize is that what they have been through together is super tragic but also has brought them closer together,” Cline revealed about John B and Sarah’s relationship. “They’re stronger together. They’re stronger helping each other and also we get to see them living life trying to find some sense of normalcy, which I think after what they’ve been through so desperately need,” she continued.

The newest couple of the group is JJ and Kiara, who went from friends to lovers after a long slow burn. “I think their relationship is like bouncing off of the most budding friendship,” Bailey said. “This season, I think Kiara teases him a little at one point, ‘Hey, it’s been a long time, and when have we been on an official date?’ I think there’s a little bit of fun in there, and I think you kind of get the message that they’re best friends and their relationship is very much centered around the friendship.”

However, Bailey was sure to add that “Kiara wants a little date.” JJ, it’s time to step it up!
